Hi I recently figured out about Aspergers and that I have it and that I LOVE it! I can't believe I used to want to be like other people. They should really want to be like me.
How about a short bio: I'm female, 19, studying music and playing the violin (my passion!), going to university in California (I love it!) but grew up in (western) Washington State (nice in the summer-otherwise: too rainy.) Used to be insecure but got over that partly on my own effort, partly by reading Ayn Rand's books and partly by learning about Asperger's! Now I REALLY don't feel the need to care about other people's stupid problems. Really! "Oh he's so cute. Oh my gosh. When are you going to see him again. No way. Like totally."
Get over it! Well, life at college can be lonely and boring but it sure beats home.
So! :) I love life and I love myself. People say I'm blunt and direct but I think those are great qualities so screw them. I hate meeting people but when I have crossed that hurdle either I don't like them and don't associate with them, or like them and hang out with them when I get the chance. Mostly I eat alone and read about economics. No luck with guys, though I do consider myself potentially attractive, esp. if I got in shape. I just don't give the right signals I guess. The concept of "flirting" is the bane of my existence!!
Looking forward to talking w/ you all! It is so great knowing that I am not the only one like this.

Welcome to the board. It's nice that you're going to be a part of it.
Ironically, I am from Western Washington state as well (Seattle to be exact.) I am living in New York right now, and my plan is to move back to Seattle soon to either go to college, or get a job in computers.
Yes, I agree with you about other people's problems. If you stay quiet, and try not to pry into other people's business, then people will like you. Worrying about other people's business is not good.
Yes, being blunt and direct is a good quality. My English teacher this year is the same way. My class really likes her a lot.
I am the same way you are with other people. I either bond with people, or I don't. When I came across this site, I was quite pleased to learn that there are so many people like me.
On that note, I think it is great that I have shared a few things with everyone else here, and I am looking forward to getting to know you as well.
