Hi, I am a first time mom with a little 22 month old autistic little girl.

Are there any other South Africans on this forum?

Don't know about South Africans, but I do know that there is a great thread for parents of kids with ASD on this site good luck and welcome.

From this corner of Wrong Planet to your corner in the great country of South Africa, welcome, sonar, to WP. Hope you can meet up with some folks from South Africa. And all the best to you and to your 22-month old daughter.

Hi welcome, no parent is clueless, we all learn and grow and quite often understand our own children better than any one else, your doing what any good parent does look for answers.

:) you said you were clueless, there is a great forum on WP called Parents Discusion where you will be able to compare notes and get advice from other parents. I used the term ASD (autism spectrum disorder) because WP caters for all disorders on the spectrum.

Have fun finding your way around
