Hullo! I'm new, confused and relieved all at the same time!

Hi - after years of being called a freak or my friends just thinking I was just your a-typical manic depressive, just had a massive realisation and after further investigation everything that people have said about me that I thought couldn't possibly be true has dropped into place.

They were right all along and I'm coming to terms why I've been an outcast my whole life. I always said I wasn't part of the alpha/beta females in school or the workplace but was omega - on the edge. I couldn't fit in even if I tried really hard.

I'm 28 now and have never been able to hold down a job lasting about 3 months before the cracks show and I have a breakdown - my mask cracks and I'm exhausted from it. In fact the longest jobs I've had are ones where I have had to work alone.

Relationships are the other problem - Apprarently I'm cold, heartless, cruel, incapable of emotion or love....which I always thought was unfair and untrue.

Reading about AS it all clicked - there was a website with a list of quotes from NT who have AS partners and their complaints were everything my partner says about me...and I thought he was a bully. After 2 years and driving each other miserable we were going to split but finding this has pulled us together and he now knows I'm not being horrible and nasty on purpose and we are giving it another chance.

Interesting story.

It's like looking into a mirror when I read posts like missjojo's. It's almost frightening- as though someone were peeking into my life and stealing all the secrets I try very hard to keep hidden.
