My name is Laura. I am a 23-year-old psychology student with Asperger syndrome who has future plans of pursing graduate studies in educational psychology. I also love computer simulation games (esp the sims series), animals (I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a lizard), creative writing, and spending time with my family. I am currently involved in my first research project and I am very excited about this. I have an excellent supervisor and am greatly enjoying this experience.

I'm going to enjoy posting on this site.

Hello Laura,

Welcome to WP. I too have a love of computer simulation games, although I've never actually played the Sims. For me they usually have to involve some type of war, like Warcraft or Civilization, I love the micromanagement. I enjoy the economic simulations too, like SimCity and Railroad Tycoon. I also love Risk, the greatest simulation wargame of all time. (The board game).

Stay a while. I'm new too, and I like it here, you probably will too.

Nice animal array. Reptile habitat = HDTV for cats.

Also always interesting to see Aspies in the mental health profession. We spend so much time consciously analyzing people from a very left-of-center view, it makes sense that we'd be uniquely good at psychology/psychiatry.

Good luck ... and welcome!

I'm actually not going into clinical/counselling. I plan to be a researcher/professor. I am particualrly interested in autism research from an educational psychology point of view.
