Hi.

I've not been diagnosed with asd or asperger's, but I'm supposed to be getting assessed soon and I'm terrified! 8O

Don't be too afraid, you'll be fine. :) Welcome to WP!

Why are you terrified? Are you scared that you DO have a spectrum disorder? Are you scared that you might not have it at all?
My suggestion is to just be yourself during testing. I also would suggest writing down your worries before the appointment and then sharing them with the doctor. Just say "before we begin I want to tell you some things about me" and then say whatever you wrote down. The doctor will appreciate the insight!

SueBB beat me to it. Terrified of what? What's the worst that can happen?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm just scared about what to expect- what do they do for the assessment? (I'm 21) I've already been dx with social anxiety, and have a lot of difficulties with verbal communication (I'm fine if it's a yes/no answer, or the person I'm speaking to is a family member/friend) so I usually communicate through writing stuff down or email.

One half of me wants to know I'm not just 'weird', but the other half is scared that I'll have to go through all this and it'll come back that I am just strange!
