Hi, all! I'm going to be uncharacteristically terse and deliver a stripped-down, nutshell intro because my time is limited today. Asperger's, late middle-aged male. Like animals, nature. Obsessions include transparent and shiny things like water and minerals, fish, birds, and plants, among others. Favorite music is rock, particularly prog metal. Favorite group, as you may have already deduced, is Tool. Also like Nine Inch Nails, Lacuna Coil, Muse, and Opeth to give an idea of the breadth of my preferences. Like Mexican, Caribbean, and Asian cuisines. Favorite author is Gene Wolfe. Favorite people are my wife and children. So very happy to have found this forum.

Welcome to Wrong Planet! Have you checked out the "in depth adult life discussion", formerly called the Dino Cafe? It's for people over 30.

actually, the original Yowling Cat's Dino Cafe was for people 40 and over ( or people feeling creaky). Alex took away the Men's Discussion and started the InDepth Adult Life Discussion and put the Dino Cafe into it. We then moved back to our original Discussion section "Getting To Know You" and it became the Dino ExCafe which is still going strong.

Strange, that is. I've also been called wierdo, freak, and spaz, to name but a few of the pejoratives that have followed me throughout my life. It's so nice to find a community where 'strange' could be considered the norm. Thank you all for the warm welcome!
