Are there any moderators on this side aside from Alex? Who is the best and quickest person to PM in case of nasty posts that need removing?

A moderator is someone who looks after the goings ons of the site. These can include things like banning/restricting those who cause trouble on the boards by means like spamming, trolling, flaming, sock puppets (ban-dodging can fall under that category). They also do things like move topics to the appropriate boards and also lock/delete the inappropriate ones. The only moderator I see regularly is CockneyRebel. I know, alex should count, but he's Site Administrator, with a similar function. He does stuff like handling the server and fixing up bugs in the coding and adding new features (such as YouTube inserts, for instance).

Current list of Mods:

Group Moderator
alex ................... District of Columbia
Group Members
CockneyRebel .... 1965 London
ed ...................... Massachusetts
Fiz ...................... Manchester, United Kingdom
JayShaw ............. Alexandria, Virginia (United States)
monastic ............. Indiana
MrMark ...............Tallahassee, FL

I was wondering about that too! I want my moderating status re-instated, but Alex will not listen to me!

I didn't know Mr. Mark got promoted to being a moderator! That surprised me!

By the way, I think you should go to CockneyRebel if you have any urgent issues to deal with. She is very nice and will help you out in no time!

Thank you!
Perhaps this information needs to go in a sticky post for future reference?

Yes, Shelby is very sweet, but I already did the same thing before!

Gosh, that's not many! Long time no see!

**Edit - good grief! It says I'm still a mod! Is that true or does my computer tell me more lies?

Annelise! Nice to see you!

On another note, why has Alex been ignoring me and why have I not been promoted to a moderator again yet?

...as I've suggested before. Deaf/busy ears prevail here. This site has simply outgrown Alex's resources. It's too big for him to manage on his own in an effective manner, and this is one of the effects of that.

It is very nice to see you again PhoenixKitten! :D

GalileoAce's profile also says he is a Moderator but he has none of those abilities. I guess this would confuse those who see people as Moderators when really they are not.

And Alex is not doing very well at the game I'm trying to play with him! I'm getting very worried!

Moderating is not a game and people who treat it like that are generally not going to do a very good job at it.

Geez, thought you straight up dropped off the face of the earth or something. Nice to see some of the old-timers coming back :) (gets spare walking cane from the collection and passes it on).
