Add a foe? WTF?

Question about this new fangled stuff.

When you click on a member's profile you see two options beneath their avatar- "add friend", and "add foe".

What is that? What happens when you click either one? Does the person get a message that you "friended" them, or [surely not] that you "foed" them?

I think we need a "duel" option to settle disagreements.

I never plan to use the Foe function, but I believe it hides their posts. At least it did on a forum I had anyway

i don't see why it would notify the other user that you "foe'd" them, as that would defeat the purpose and cause more tension.

either way, you can test it out on me, if you want.

When you add someone as a foe, their posts will appear blank, just a text that will say that there is a post there by X who is on your ignore list, and an option to display the post.
It doesn't work yet. Or at least it didn't when I tested it.
And no, they will not be notified if you foe them.

Nor will anyone be notified if you add someone as friend. It means you'll see if they're on here when you are (on your account page). It seems to work.

Kip, I tried to 'foe' you just to test as you suggested but it didn't work. I tried to foe myself but of course it didn't work.

I added about three friends and one foe.
Its nice to see if the friends are online.

I'm not so sure I like this "Add as Friend" thing (or, whatever it's called), cuz I have a stalker and I disabled "Show when I'm online" so that he would NOT know----now he'll be able to, again????

It shouldn't sshow up CampinCat even if they do add you on their friend list. I talk to someone regular through PM who is on my friend list and they show up as being offline because they have also disabled "Show when I'm online".

Except it doesn't work on moderators or administrators.

I know for a fact that it marks their PMs with a red box if you "foe" them, and friends are green. That's all I've noticed that it does. I did add someone to my foe list for a legitimate reason, not just to test it, and the rude PM they sent me was marked in red.

Yeah, unfortunately the foe option doesn't work yet. I still see all their posts.

Any chance of this getting fixed or some other ignore list being implemented?

I just had my phone line fixed and then I got like 500 emails and some of them were from this stupid dating site called okcupid from years ago

They had the friend or foe option which I don't understand,
