It's easy to throw insults at other people when you have contributed nothing or accomplished nothing for yourself.

Why don't you try building a better website than WrongPlanet and see just how difficult it really is?

What insults? Alex neglected to fix a problem he was well aware for an extensive period of time. And as a result WP lost a lot of people and activity has taken a considerable nosedive. That's just a simple fact.

The amount of members has not gone down because only Alex can delete an account. Moderators can only close accounts. What has seemingly gone down is activity.

I have no idea how many members have been banned but I think outside of spam/sockpuppet accounts far more people have become less or inactive due to frustration with using the system that has been banned for being toxic users. Also, a lot of people have become less or inactive because they have moved on with their life or migrated to social media. This is common to all forums.

I noticed delays but chalked it up to "later," which was okay. This is July, many members might be on vacation. If WP needs money, a Donate button will work just fine.

I'm talking about once prolific and well liked members who finally gave up. You can come up with other scenarios. But that's who and what I'm talking about.

I suppose there are some who feel that chronic daily server glitches and outages that lasted hours and went of for months, had no negative impact, but I don't see it that way.

It's not just Wrong Planet. Lately, it seems like the entire online Aspie scene is dying, with the unfortunate exception of the most authoritarian, gratuitously censored forum around. The small place I've been posting on since 2013 is completely deserted at the moment. Sad times for those of us who reject more conventional forms of social media.

I belong to a forum not ASD related. The sites owner is now putting all his efforts into the facebook page. The software works fine but we are down to a core of about 10 posters. But they are quality posters.

Back on topic the type of difficulties we had were particularly difficult for autistics who get disturbed by having thier hyperfocus interupted and who have executive functioning time planning issues. I think most NT forums with similar problems for such a long period would be in much worse shape then we are. I think that this forum still has a lot of life is because of the Autistic traits of loyalty and reluctence to change and the quality of the posters. I was reading a blog by the Autistic anti psuedoscience advocate Fiona O’Leary. She had the misfortune to join a facebook group where the use of Aspergers or Aspie was highly discouraged because they thought those who use those terms were anti neurodiversity and ableist against other autistics.

Then, as I have suggested before, build your own website. Then we can visit it and bag on you about how terrible it is, how boring its members are, and how inept you are at keeping it running.

Alex has a life outside of this website. Maybe if you had one too, you would be a little more understanding of his situation.
