Am I allowed to have a link to one of my posts in my signature? It's just I'd written my explanation on why being diagnosed young ruined my life and I love the way I had worded it, and I know it will serve good purpose for future reference if anyone asks. I can then say "click on the link in my signature".

I just wanted to know if it's okay, as I know there are some rules about what to include in signatures. I did read the rules but thought I'd ask, just to be on the safe side.

Of course you can - that's fine.
I've seen a few members with similar links in their signatures.

They say they're free.

They don't say whether they benefit from the pages being used.

You mean like YouTube content providers can earn money through their videos by simply being watched? :chin:

It seems that itch.io content providers earn money through requesting donations or by selling their games, but these games are free. The platform pays them nothing - it's just a storefront.

Thanks. I wasn't recommending an outcome, just recognizing I wasn't qualified to choose it.

"No more than 3 quotes can be embedded into post" or something of that effect. Is this a new setting here now? Whenever I reply to a reply of a reply of a reply that are all in quotes I get a red message come up telling me I can't submit with more than 3 quotes or something like that.

I find it a bit tricky editing out quotes.

That's been a setting for a couple of years, if not longer.

It was implemented because there were too many occurrences of nested quotes as deep as 10 or more, making posts unreadable.
While part of the problem is the way in which post buttons are presented, the "Quote" button tends to be used as a reply button when most often, there is no reason to quote an entire post (especially when it's immediately above a quote of it) - or the quotes of quotes of quotes of quotes of quotes...

There's a convention here which has developed over the years: starting a post with "^" indicates it's a response to the post above (if it's not already obvious), and "^^" to indicate the post before that - but really, it's better to trim a quote down to the part the response is intended to address.

Thank you for the explanation. Makes sense.

No problem.
It's a bit of a faff on a mobile generally, though - WP just isn't designed for those so it can be really fiddly to navigate.

Maestro Cornflake,

Firstly my apologies, to add to your charge as admin, I have a quick request: I started a topic yesterday :
viewtopic.php?t=427727
In the Age/Gender related discussions › In-Depth Adult Life Discussion - board. and only now has my eye fallen on the
Topical Discussion › Politics, Philosophy, and Religion - board.
I had not seen that religion and relgion-adjacent topics should be placed/started there.
Is there a way to move the threat to the proper location?

Much obliged,
Kada
