Huh? Unless Twitter has gotten rid of it's 140 character limit, that's certainly not possible, since most posts are longer that that.

So, what is actually being posted on Twitter? I'm definitely curious about this.

The only people who see it are people who are looking for WP stuff in the first place.

I think it might do to point out that you did give your consent, when you agreed to the Terms of Service.

ok, so they're allowed to reproduce our posts AND moddify them before doing so?
and no, i didin't read this, i had assumed this was a safe enough place.i know what are my obligations generally, but i hadn't imagine someone could give themselves abusive rights.

Yes, but they'll only edit them if the moderators have a reason to do so, i.e. if you're breaking the rules.

oh, ok, so they're not going to modify your post, then post in somewhere else under your name? how can you assume that, since they've given themselves the right to do it?

Yeah, what about it?

The terms of service are mostly just there so the mods can do their job. I doubt a forum like this will muck their members about for no reason.

...well. i can see you have no issue with this, i don't mind so much that they post my posts on twitter, but i wish there was a disclaimer about this somewhere. some people post stuff on here that are borderline illegal ( ie: death threats) or just very private, like suicide thoughts or something about themselves they don't want to share with people uneducated about AS.
A post on a specialised forum is ok, but as i said on twitter twits get retwitted a lot. (twit twit twit what an annoying word.......)
anyway, what i mean is they might think twice about posting such private things if they knew WP was actively USING the right to reproduce their posts wherever they wish. if my post gets reproduced, i think the least would be to warn me about it, and tell me where it went. i might be typing on WP , so it means i agreed to the terms of service ( even though i didn't read it but that's me), but i still find this distateful.

you see, that's the problem, what you said is exactly what people assume it means. NOT that their post will end up on twitter for the world to see. what if they have the same username there? thought of that?
