Moderator BBcode - mod tag

Has the mod BBcode [mod="moderators name"] always been available to mods, or is it a relatively new addition?

Did they forget to tell you?
Don't think I remember it used when you were a mod. Think is relitively new? (Maybe 2 years old at a guess?)
Do the moderators have a special red button to fix onto their keyboards to activate it?

I hadn't seen it used till after I left and was wondering if it was a forgotten BBcode tag or added. I'm surprised the site didn't grind to a halt if new code had been added seeing as it's held together with sticky tape and dirt.

All mods are given a special red button to add to their keyboard, and I was supposed to give mine back, but I kept it

As I recall, it has always existed and would have worked if we knew about it, but it didn't display among the tags available at the top of the post editor until Cornflake changed a setting shortly after his return to the site. As a result, despite functioning, it was never used because we didn't know it existed!

^ Thanks dude, I'm not sure if it would have made a big difference if it had been available sooner , might of solved a few issues. I personally like the addition (or fix), as it gives posters like yourself a separate identity from your moderating.

It first became available in the 2014 upgrade.

Strangely enough, me too

One interesting quirk, unlike the "quote" function, the "mod" function requires the equals sign (but not necessarily a username). So all those times I was writing [mod], it didn't trigger the BB code.

It be interesting to know (at least to me) if any post was updated after the 2014 update if you had used the following BBcode?
