Is there any way you all could get rid of the ones with the single females etc looking? I am just exceptionally careful as to what my kids see while I am online.
That and I am tired of hearing "she isn't dressed appropriately" Thanks!

The slu*ty "find love now" ads are back. I have little kids around me and my 8 y.o. son reads this site. Some of them are pretty raunchy looking. I realize only the females are complaining but I do think it's a bit "much" for a site that has a place for kids and parents. :(

do you run Firefox, en-una-isla? if so, you can get adblock (google it - it's a free download), right click on the ad, go down to "adblock" (then follow it - it's pretty obvious) and it'll block that ad forever.

I agree with you guys. I will work on getting rid of those ads. Which are the worst? true.com, match.com, or emate?

I have noticed the true.com ads, and those are pretty bad. The haven't noticed if the other ones are bad. Also, the ad for free screensavers has a picture of a woman in an extremely raunchy position.

Though I don't have a personal problem with them, I often log in to WrongPlanet at my parents' place of business. They teach ballet, and some of the students at the school are young children. My mum's computer in her office is visible from the hallway, and I always block the screen before I see what ads are up. I don't want those images to upset some of the little kids' parents. So I would also appreciate it if the ads in question could be removed.

Alex,

I have to agree with the point bec made, I not only view this site at home, where I have children, but, I view it at work, and let's just say my "employer" would not think too highly of anything that could even think to promote porn.

That being said, I empathize with you as you are very busy and probably have way more things to do than listen to all of us, but I feel very strongly that the images we place in our mind can affect our behavior. Well, and I just do not allow my kids to see that stuff.

Vivi~ is that an add on to FF? I have pop-ups blocked through FF.

oh I almost forgot... The true.com and emate seem to be the worst and I haven't seen the one for the screensaver. I have concerns on those click here ads (the ones that state your computer is infected, there are people on here who may have problems with being naive, some of the younger folks (like my son), may actually not notice the greyed out advertisement in the corner. Just .02 on that

I really don't mind seeing ads but the animated ones are horrible and maddening. Can they be "calmer?"

I really hate to complain too, but I'd rather pay a monthly fee than have the ads that actually flash. I have to hold my hand over that part of the screen because it's so visually disturbing.

OMG it's getting worse! The blinking is terrible. Like I said I don't mind ads but the blinking and movement is really bad. I thought animated avatars were not allowed? Then why these animated ads? Please give us some nice quiet ads that don't move. I also have to hold my hand over the screen.

Is the advertising what is causing the text "FBI Arrest!! (Fury)" to appear at the top of every single page on WP, just below the navigation links (FAQ, Search, Profile, etc.)? Or did we get hacked again somehow?

I think I haven't noticed the ads because of the way I use the computer. I can't touch-type, so when I'm writing, I'm mostly looking at the keyboard. An dwhen I'm reading the posts, I blow through them so fast the ads sometimes don't get to load completely.
