get rid of mr. marks report to the membership
Maybe he should. Or does leaving his mods out
to dry give him some pleasure?
Oh come on. Alex was incommunicado throughout most of
my modship. Surely, you noticed that people (including in the
mod forum) were complaining left and right about lack of response.
This was obviously intentional.
I actually presumed that 'twas against me,
as she seemed to have more of an axe to
grind against me (the most liberal of ALL the
mods), for whatever reason. Relax. She's a
bit of a troll, but fun to bat around.
Me too! As y'all well know.
And especially when it sounds exactly the
opposite.
Good point. It is thankless. And ANYONE who wants
the position is suspect as hell.
Aye, but the members pretty clearly DO wish
a great deal of freedom. And that's an important
enough point, on it's own. The site wouldn't exist
without them.
Pretty much the same as I told him,
when he asked me that of you.
Maybe better. I KNOW that my psychological problems
interfered with my abilities to deal with some issues.
That I had to step away angry, a couple of times.
Diagnosed or not.
I don't think bizarre was referring to MrMark (or to anyone in particular) but I won't presume to know exactly what she meant, it's better to let people explain themselves rather than to make assumptions. But as I read it, I thought she was making a general point.
I think she does have a point in that it does help if Mods have some understanding of AS...the social difficulties, the possible mix-ups in communication, the occasional meltdown. I do feel that to have AS (not necessarily diagnosed) means that Mods would tend to give a little leeway in situations where a non-AS Mod might not fully understand the difficulties. Let's call a spade a spade here
I think a lot of members would be unhappy about a NT Mod telling them what to do. A lot of us have/have had trouble with NTs IRL. I don't hate them. Not all of them anyway, lol.

I doubt it. That's kinda pessimistic, and I find Alex to be a pretty positive guy. He gets pleasure out of being a national AS advocate. At least I hope he does. We need more people like him. Any takers? Anybody want to work on a national level for the benefit of aspies everywhere? Talk to Alex.

Merae fabulae sunt, et eas esse tales scis!
If you're not being facetious or sarcastic, then you are mental.

An interesting observation though is some of the people causing the most problems on WP have secondary or a primary diagnosis that is not ASD. The level of conflict we seen can not be explained with just
aspergers. In case of women that is often borderline personality and in the case of males antisocial personality. So basically your asking aspie mods to deal with alot of non-aspie rooted conflict.

Yes...I see what you mean.
I suppose I didn't sound sarcastic because text makes no sound; you simply interpreted it wrong. Sorry you misinterpreted my comments, as it was clearly not my intention to be offensive - you on the other hand, I wonder. Think logically; why would I suddenly launch an unsubstantiated attack for no reason. I have never done this.
And to what 'deliberate' spelling error do you refer? What does your third paragraph even mean?
Ah, sorry, didn't compare your reply to my post with your sarcastic post. You mispelt vigilante in your reply to my tirade. I presumed it was in the original 'tirade', and when you said it was sarcasm, I assumed you were mocking someone else's spelling.
Clearly not your intention to be offensive? I couldn't tell that. Think logically based on past behaviour? I have not paid that much attention to your postings to do so. What I saw was an attack. My response was a reaction of hurt retaliation, rather than an offensive attack.
I hope we can put this incident behind us. I am grateful for your support, though I haven't seen any of it. I'll take it on trust. But it was hard to tell you were sarcastic. Even TheMachine1 seemed to think you were actually attacking.
No worries. I think we both need to take a breath and wait for VGMix 3 to return (though I wonder who on earth could hold their breath for that long).

I wasn't referring to any moderator in particular. I just thought that it would be better for an AS/Autism site if the majority of the moderators actually have AS/Autism. I seriously don't think an NT (or whatever) can understand the experience of being an Aspie. The majority of ppl on this site have Autism and so that should be reflected in the persons chosen to make decisions about us.
Not to say that a person without a diagnosis cannot be a good moderator. But personally, I don't see why they would not go to a doctor and get a second opinion. Because how can someone be totally objective in order to diagnosis themselves?

It are a fact

There were a number of reasons discussed
why actually getting a diagnosis could lead
to difficulties. Unless there were some clear
benefit to doing so, I would NEVER take those
risks.
Good, we all learn from our mistakes, good to know we recognize them.
wow, Alex does really trust you, and you are his personal hero, in a way. Nice.
And I will continue to do so. There are too many fatalists here, certain that they are doomed and seeing no reason why they should try to become more than they are. Some are bent on doing as much damage and taking down with them as many others as they can. Hopefully, they don't succeed at destroying anything more important then a website.
Yeah, right, but you kinda missing the point, why on earth do you have to present yourself as the big boss, someone to fear to all people, all members, kids, adults, as, non-as, ass, non-ass, everyone! Not reason and no need to do that, unless it makes you feel so good, which I think it is, c'mon, don't you know that feeling? when you are feared and the feeling of being a very important figure? it makes you feels so good, doesn't it? Why I don't see Quartermass doing the same thing? and believe me, he is loved here a lot, people like him a lot and respect him, I don't see him attracting attention like that.
Oh, ok, sorry, well, let's move on and partay!! !
wayside. Tired, as we have no real thrill off of being "in
charge," we don't wish to serve anymore. That simple.
All that remains are those who desire it, for some reason.
Until they go out of bounds too often, as has happened
before.
I have never argued for restricting non-hate speech. I have only argued that free speech is not protected here on this privately owned site.
Alex asked for my advice as to whether or not it was in the best interest of the site for me the remain. I told him that I was too close to the issue to help him on this one, and that he should do whatever he felt was in the best interest of his site.
I have a few issues or just wonder about what a few people claim about free speech, actually.
I agree with the hate-speech, but you made a few mistakes there, at least one I can remember.
Cheers.

I am afraid of all people, actually.
The point here is that it seems that this is the image you want to portrait of yourself, I don't see the point of doing that really, other than wanting to be respected, to enforce respect from people actually, instead of they respecting you on their own. Kinda like that. But I guess that's understandable, a lot of people here have some issues one or the other, otherwise we wouldn't be here I suppose. Probably you feel you need this somehow.
Anyway, you do a fine job getting rid of trolls and spam and everything, I think that's good, just there have been a little of few issues with a few things, I think the other mods are more open minded. I kinda feel guilty because I shouldn't compare people, but I'm doing it, sorry about that.
Cheers.
