Sadly, the captcha service isn't a part of WP directly, it's given by cloudflare on a different server (security stuff). I just hope this is fixed soon or I myself may end up not posting for a while.

The only time I get a CAPCHA is when I try to change my avatar. Other than that I don't get it at all.

Just to let everybody get an idea of just how important Captchas are for getting rid of scammers and spammers.....

There is a booming Captcha cracking industry in India. There has been for some time, now.

A few years ago, the going rate was to pay humans (whose sole job is cracking Captchas) about $2 (£1) for every 1,000 Captchas they bust through ; on behalf of all manner of dubious companies and individuals. Their official job title is "data processor".
I assume that there's a similarly low hire cost nowadays.

;-) So, if a company or determined individual actually wanted to spam this forum..... I really doubt that a few Captchas is going to stop them. No matter how indecipherable the text.

I would hope that Alex is aware of this if he is seriously relying on Captchas as a form of protecting WP against spammers and scammers.

I'm posting this from cdn.wrongplanet.net and I haven't been asked to fill in a CAPTCHA so far, whereas www.wrongplanet.net redirects me to the CloudFlare page whoever I try to do ... well, anything. Just thought I'd let you know.

Whoever has FTP access for WP would be well advised to sort that out ASAP.
