A couple of days ago, Tem asked to see a copy of the mods' job description, so we know exactly what moderators' rules, duties, and obligations are. I don't see it posted yet. If it is, maybe someone could post a link here.
It's hard to say who could meet mod criteria when we don't know their job description, or Alex's list of characteristics being sought. I'd assume they'd select someone void of political bias, who believes in equality, and is a strong communicator or problem solver. Someone who is online many hours a day, who is autistic, who will treat all members with due respect regardless of the issue. Having prior experience as a mod would be a bonus!
The word "moderator" means by definition, someone who is impartial and nonpartisan, who stays in the middle on topics so that both sides are considered equally. It's like being an arbitrator in a court of law.
Aristotle: The law is reason, free from passion.
