I apologize for not making it clear that I actually was being sarcastic.

I am aware of the fact that you were :P

I was directing this at others who said they had to look it up.

Ah, that is todays's PC version. Back in '62, it was gender-specific!

Oh my lord people don't get into a name calling debate on my account! LOL. Thanks sinsboldly for the list, I didn't realize these people were moderators.

Although I have read some of the 'descriptions' below peoples user names, most seem to be just random words thrown out there - so I kinda stopped looking.

As for rules, of course I read them before I ever posted (can't help myself) but they seemed to be just the usual 'common sense' ones I'm used to on forums. "Don't be a profane bully jackbutt" type thing as well as "don't sell your wares here" and "we are not lab rats!".

So, like someone said, maybe I'll read them again.

Thanks for all the replies!

Regarding 'Twat' it also is used (at least it was back in my school days) as an alternative to the four letter C word. Therefore it is fairly offensive. I have not heard its use outside of the UK

Regarding the forums' moderators they seem to have found a good balance these days.

I especially like the last one, Vivienne! I think we should include that in the official rules of WP!

Just to be clear, not ALL mod's have the labels. I don't, because I didn't want one. I want the responsibility when I'm willing to take it, and not when I'm not. And there are people with mod tools that may not be known to be active, or are happy keeping quiet about it.

The value of the PPR forum has diminished somewhat recently since a certain moderator has been confusing healthy disagreement with "attack".

If you are thinking of the situation involving me there, disagreement was definitely *not* the problem I had asked to be addressed.

Which situation/problem was that?

The one I know about that has been addressed.

My point here is simply to say I have not seen any mod do the kinds of things you have implied, mentioned, suggested or whatever ... and that is the end of that.

Ah... I see... it's unfortunate some people have to resort to underhand tactics to silence those they disagree with; don't you think so?

I have seen no such thing happen here, and there was certainly nothing underhanded about my asking to have something done to stop the attacks being made against me. But, maybe you have some other situation in mind.
