Yes, I'm on board for this. Judging from the recent events that stemmed this, it causes more problems than helps. If someone needs money, there are other places out there that can help them.

I don't like thread bumping, but the reason I posted in the first place was to prevent scammers from striking again. The 65 page gf-with-cancer thread has finally been locked, but Sean's back. Even if you don't believe he is a scammer, he's shown how easy it would be to fleece people here and then just disappear off.

It seems most people who answered the polls are in favour of the new rule and if Alex thinks it's a good idea too, does that mean the rule will be changed? Can it be soon please?

Well, I was wrong in believing a rule addressing solicitation already exists here. So, I suggest Alex add two words at the end of this:

Often when I read things, I often miss what they've implied. It's either part of my AS or my learning difficulties.
