I use this to block the Talk TV bars:

Code:
div#accordion {
        display: none !important;
        }

Thanks. So much simpler than my completely stupid attempt. For some reason, I'd completely forgotten the "none" value for "display" - and there's hardly any excuse, as it comes just two below "inline-block" and "inline", which I looked up, to see what the difference might be between them.
I still left my selector as the plain, global, class ".demo", because I don't want to be a guinea pig for anything of that class.

I didn't even notice the login pop up until now because I'm set to automatically log in every time I open a WP page. I have my online status hidden in my profile, so that's not even an issue for me.

I don't really mind the TV bars up top except that they do slow down the page loads a little most of the time, but it's worse now when the traffic is heavy. They don't bother me too much but I would prefer to see them go anyway. They always open expanded at first, then collapse.

Seeing that feels like I'm being nagged to watch them but most of the time I have other things to do. Seeing them repeatedly is like watching a TV program with those annoying fly-by ads at the bottom of the screen.

Advertising is getting far too intrusive across the board. Yeah, I know they produce revenue for the site, but are they really helping if I never ever click on them anyway? I mean, seriously.

When I want to buy a product, I never, ever use ad links on web pages to find what I'm looking for. I use Google, and NOT the ad or sponsored links either, so basically nobody is really making anything by slamming my screen with ads anyway, and that is why I do use ad blockers.

On the Wrong Planet Forums Forum Index page, why in the name of Gandalf and all his little wizards is the "Talk TV" bar now a) bright green and b) perpetually open?

Intrusive, annoying, pointless, irritating. If I wanted to look at a mugshot of Alex every time I glance at the screen I would have made myself an attractive screen-saver or maybe some wallpaper. I haven't. I don't. Make it stop.

And on top of that, if I have to look at a photo of Alex everytime I go to that page, can it at least be a better photo?

This forum had a crappy interface to begin with, now it's just a horrible thing to navigate.

Yeah. Flattering it is not.

I don't like the talk bar either; it's too big and my computer shows the entire contents of it and then the entire page moves up when the talk contents hides itself. It's really obnoxious. Like really; if we want to watch the episode then we will go find it. We don't need it shoved in our faces so to speak.
