Objectively, Xxx may be leaving himself a little exposed on the flanks, and may need to shore up that defensive weakness...... esp. if guerilla anti-autism speaks aspies with a whiff of blood start lurking....

Moogs style was definitely low maintenance, with some clever thread starts that have endured and may become his legacy once his appearance on UK Idol catapults him to stardom

It is interesting to see perceptions not my own sometimes.

Personally, I'm not really very concerned with my nether regions being exposed. Appearances are sometimes very deceiving, especially on the web, where it's very easy to see only a narrow view of what's really there in total.

There are certain debates I tired of quite a while ago, and that happens to be one of them.

Not too many people find my "flanks" all that tasty anyway (they're a lot tougher than they may look). Those that do find them tasty, find pretty quickly that I also have teeth, and I'm not afraid to use them. But I've not found that to be a common necessity by any means.

What power? The ability to ban people from a forum? Yeah, I'm gonna get a really fat head and turn into a megalomaniac over that.

That's just silly.

Trust me, telling people you moderate an internet forum doesn't impress anybody in real life. It doesn't increase my income, nor does it influence anyone to my benefit.

What "power" there is with this volunteer work, doesn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things, so no, it's not going to "get to my head." This is a great place, but it's not that important to my life.

instead of pooping in his thread, if you have problems with moderators maybe PM them directly, or PM another mod to make a complaint.

i do not think there has ever been a new mod welcome thread that didn't either turn into a flame war, or at least have people making backhanded compliments or complaints about past moderators. IIRC the last mod welcome thread had to be locked. it's practically a rite of passage lol. welcome to the team, MrXxx!! !
