Ironic that you don't like how ASDs are "Ds" even though ASDs were created due to being Ds by professionals.

I don't understand; why go with a label that's designed as a disorder if you don't want it to be a disorder? It doesn't make sense.

Well depending on what your traits and abilities are you can either put it as a different way of thinking or a disability. It depends on the individual. Not everybody is the same, right?

No, but ASDs are actually defined by symptoms, all of which make it a disorder.

If you are say, socially distant, have an intense interest, and don't see yourself as having a disorder..., why would you even identify with a disorder then? It doesn't make sense. Call yourself introverted and go with that.

I've noticed a change in the demographics of WP as well. I'm still sticking to my guns and standing up for what I believe in, though.

This.

Although some of the newer folks seem set in the ways they view Autism, which is often stereotypical. Oh well.

So we teach them. It's not like they can't learn. A person can't really make up their mind until they know both sides of the issue, anyway.

How can you be "against neurodiversity"?

Isnt that like being opposed to the Law of Gravity?

Neurodiversity exists whether anyone likes it or not.

OP, Can you please tell me if your complaint is about how WP is managed or if it's about the other members. Do you have any specific examples?

I thought at first this was going to be about how many on here hate NTs...
Personally, I don't give a f*** if you're an NT or not, just don't tell me how my brain should function or why I should "be normal." That's like telling a black person to be white. It's rediculous and you wouldn't expect a person to change their pigmentation, nor should it be expected for us to act "normal."

Just about any opinion is allowed provided that its trying to cause some decent debate and not merely trying to upset members.

There are some opinions that may need quite a lot of work to be presented in manner that doesnt look like an attack to most members but if someone is willing to spend their time doing that we are not going to stop them.
