Just remember, it's a good-hearted 14 year old aspie's heart you're dealing with here. And when I say good-hearted, I mean it. OWA would do anything for a friend...you couldn't imagine a more loyal soul. I would trust him above anyone else in my life...and I'm 37.

I'm VERY close to breaking that limit. On average, I post about 18 times per day, but I know I can easily exceed 40 on a day where there's a lot of stuff I want to contribute to.

Actually, machine, you've raised some very important points on this thread, and I agree with pretty much everything you've said, except maybe your conclusion.

I definitely agree that the young people like one winged angel are a lot more important than us old people. I also agree with your assessment of that other situation involving romance.

Like you pointed out, I think it's very important that we're not chasing off the young people who are hurting. I have no reason to dislike these people, and it would be a bad thing if they felt they were being driven off. I don't want that.

Hell, I'm even considering the possibility that I might be a bit pedantic. That might be something it would be a good idea for me to watch out for. It's hard to see your own faults.

I do think there's a problem, though. Everybody with an internet connection knows that spam is annoying. As you know, the word spam comes from the monty python skit where they drive the guy crazy by saying the same thing over and over again.

I'm not talking about advanced social skills here, more along the lines of how many times do you tell the same joke to the same people. I don't have a problem skipping over the occasional leet post, but looking through entire pages of it looking for a post in plain english that says something different doesn't seem like the same thing.

I gather it doesn't bother you. If I'm the only one it bothers, then I ought to shut up about it and leave or accept it.

It seems that these people are mostly talking to each other. Maybe it would be best to set aside a place for it and let them go to it all they want. It's not like they're beating up old ladies.

And for you young guys, I never write in all caps, but I'm going to now: YOU ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ME. I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE THIS SITE.

If you're going to leave because of me, let me know and I'll waterdog it. I'll be leaving soon anyway.

I agree - the l33t and related posts are nothing other than pure garbage. So that makes one more of your number. It's irritating having to read this nonsense looking for something worth reading. Knock it off, will you?

Their posting in that fashion for the very same reason us more functioning types
are posting because we enjoy it. But we do it in a more verbose fashion because thats our skill levels. What their doing is as natural and normal to them as what we
are doing is to us. WP is also becoming their primary obession.

Well one problem is if you move them to their own small area you will marginalize them from the group to an "outcast" group. I think OWA wants to be a full member in the main group. To be honest I rarely ever visit those kid forums and not much at all lately the mens or women forum. I know OWA and he knows me because we both posted in the random posting section. We do not need two random sections. If we did have two random sections would our paths every had crossed?

What it amounts to is it no real sacrifice for us to let them post as often as they want.

They could do, yes. No doubt some people do. But I bet more people find OWA's post irrtating than my own. If it's the reverse, I shall no longer post here. I've done that with online forums in the past, you know - they need me more than I need their forum, and all that.

Also, the spamming could put new members off...

To be honest I have only had problems with a fews of your posts you made trashing others rights to post. The very things you want : the right to post, to be wanted here

The hale_bopp thread? I wasn't threatening her right to post, just telling her what I thought of her. Two different things. It's amazing how many people cry "freedom of speech" when their position is threatened. I'm a libertarian, so I don't deny anyone the right to post as long as the owner is happy with that.

If I started posting on all the threads on here in (add certain obscure language of your choice here that you didn't understand) even when I could speak English perfectly well wouldn't you get a little annoyed eventually?

I don't think asking people to speak in clear English (unless in a thread in another language) is too much to ask, do you?

Different people have tried talking to OWA in different ways in an attempt to encourage him to modify his behavior. I have been very patient and tolerant with him. He said he had nothing else to do and was provided with a long list of alternative activities. He said he didn't know of other forums to spam and was provided with three other links. His behavior has reached the point where it's just disrespectful. When relational and contractual methods fail, it's time for behavioral methods.

Yes, I'm one of the older, smarter, self-diagnosed aspies. I'll stick around and gently speak my mind for the benefit of the younger and possibly less intelligent among us.
