Bullying
It isn't to me.
To make any sense of that, I'd need to know what you mean by attacking a person, other than a physical attack. Any kind of criticism of the person is made of ideas about the person, which are ideas nonetheless, so they in principle can be the subject of a civil discussion. Whether the person is willing to discuss them on these terms is a different matter. I'm quite used to this kind of discussion, because I've had many conversations which others soon directed towards judging me, far more often than the other way round.
I think you may trying too hard to find a definitive philosophical basis for these distinctions, but that isn't what is needed in this kind of thing. What you need to determine what a personal attack is just some simple guidelines.
Verbally attacking the person or qualities of the person is no good. "You are stupid, fat, ugly and wrong" is a personal attack. "Your ideas about this are wrong" is not a personal attack.
"you can't think straight. You are a liar. You are disgusting" --these are personal attacks. "your thinking about this is illogical. That statement was not true. That idea is disgusting"--these are not personal attacks.
Does that help? It's not really very theoretical.
Moderators who abuse their position of authority.
I’ve recently witnessed what they can do and what I say is this site needs fairer people to deal with online social problems some users have.
Whether you’re bias or not to a topic you should remain indifferent and NOT try to side with who you want and keep changing your age requirements to suit the purpose of that topic or, be allowed on the same basis to try and side with the unlicensed conduct, of challenging and controlling users by closing rank on them.
In fact, its down right prejudiced and accounts for why people end up reducing their time and leaving.
I have just suffered a personal loss myself so it couldn’t have been worse timing and the moderators who go looking to start an attack on members should stop abusing your own authority here.
