Well, there already are friendship threads on here for under 18 and over 18, I believe... I guess people just don't do much with it... I mean, people post there, but I am not sure anyone ever gets much of a response, lol. I know I didn't.
yeah but I don't like you
(sorry - only joking)

Really? I have been here all this time and had no idea.
Friendship and General Social Interaction
Having Asperger's Syndrome means you may not have great social skills, but that doesn't mean you can't learn them! Discuss friendship and social skills here!
There is also the adolescent forum.
I think these forums are intended more for discussing issues relating to friendship rather than a forum to create friendships.
I count you and a few others as "on-line" friends. I can't see going to a "find a friend" forum like a dating service as working too well. I don't think it works that way. Posting anywhere here and interacting you can find a kindred spirit.
I know when I first joined, I felt a bit overwhelmed. There seemed to be cliques (Waterdogs, TM1 & Werbert come to mind) and I felt relucant to post, feeling always the outsider. Now I think some think I am part of "the clique"
It just takes a while to get used to different people's personality which you eventually put together if they (and you) post enough.
I think perhaps those feeling a need for a "find a friend" forum need a place they feel safe from getting attacked if they open up. Mentioning political/religious or other strongly held belief can draw a lot of vitriol (guilty of it myself once or twice)
