I would love for there to be the ability to have light text against a dark background - I find text way easier to read that way around (I have all of my code editors set up that way). An ex-colleague of mine also told me that reversing the colours is often beneficial for dyslexic people as well, and no doubt there are other groups who would benefit too (e.g. certain types of impaired vision).

The National Autistic Society (UK) website does it well - there are 6 colour options that cover a good range of different contrast, and the buttons for it are right there on the front page without having to fiddle about in sub-menus or profile settings etc.

Back off, Kevin. Dianthus is no more negative than anyone else, and she doesn't deserve to have you stalking or criticizing her.

I was just check to see if this had anything to do with my earlier lightbulb comment and it sure doesn't.

What's funny though, is that when I posted a few things in the women's thread a while back it got poached upon by some very hostile men in there. I wonder if this is merely a gang cliché appeal to win back moral support from the ones who have nothing interesting to say then blame others when the chips are down.
I'll say this Fnord, you need to back off poking your nose into other people's feelings. Its not breaking anything ethical here, and I don't see anyone actually supporting who you're calling a straitjacket virtually.

Its also hilarious, that as soon as I posted my well organised starter threads about premonitions, a Fnord thread got started straight away. The only one being stubborn and can afford all these clichés seems to be old man river here with a back up motto of Thou shalt not call one a rhino.
I prefer to side with the needy in all of these very silly over-heated arguments.

If you want a convenient way to dim your screen on a desktop computer, F.Lux allows you to lower the screen brightness by holding Alt and pressing the down arrow key. Of course, F.Lux is also designed to set your screen to a warmer color temperature at nightfall which supposedly makes it easier on your eyes, but I'm not a fan of this effect so just set the night time temperature to the same value as the day temperature, in my case 6500k at full brightness.

I had to use that fix cuz the site was way too bright for me after the upgrade. I have a rare low vision disorder that causes me to be extra sensitive to lighting conditions along with some colorblindness & being extremely nearsighted. I would of quit coming here if I didn't have that fix.

Another thing I forgot to add, F.Lux won't dim your mouse cursor if you have Aero enabled on Windows 7 (not sure about 8.1 or 10), so a quick fix is to enable pointer trails. This causes your mouse cursor to be drawn in hardware. You might need to disable it for certain games however, such as Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
