The original developers of WP are no longer here. I once read a CV of one. He said, and i paraphrase "I was involved in the development of Wrong Planet but it no longer represents my design philosophy".

This doesn't surprise me.

Alex is still around, I believe.

What's your point? Not even the sorry there are too many people page contains so much as valid mark-up. Where is the development?

All the people that keep WP up and running are volunteers. Time is volunteered and money for upkeep is volunteered. Are you volunteering?

Merle

If you had not noticed, Alex does not run WP as a charity. He runs it as an enterprise. It is a shame that the biggest site on the internet is ran to line someones pockets rather than the best interests of those on the spectrum.

As for you "volunteers" don't pretend you get nothing out of the position. Honestly, we are not all as naive as the few members who live their lives in the Haven.

This is just funny. I suppose you can dream up anything you wish and call it truth, but it doesn't make it the truth just because you want it to be.

I'm curious as to what exactly is the issue with this forum. I've been on much larger and busier forums and I have never seen anything like this. The issue of contributing money to the site- well, maybe, but first I want to know what's wrong and how my money would fix it. I think we got a new server a year or so ago. Archiving old threads would probably help, and I doubt that would be expensive to implement.

The site is unusable, lots of failed connections, all day long.

The aspie that he is, he wants to leave old threads open so "someone can post in them if they find them useful" (his words)...
He is very aspie it seems, and so far it seems there's no way he'll change his way of thinking.

Don't know if I'll volunteer again.

At least I've got the email of people I talk frequently with.

^ Well, I'm not familiar with database systems, but there's got to be some performance hacks available other than just archiving old stuff. I mean, this place crawls at times. We have under 300 people on right now, and it's still slow.

Yes, all students are. It is not like you are in thousands of dollars of debt from running this site, if you are then I suggest you get a proper webhost for the place.

All the truth you needed to know was on that site you ran away from. There were many people on there happy to guide you to it, you just refused to say it. You may as well have been Lord Nelson holding his telescope up to his dodgy eye: "yes there are no ships!"

But at least I am not so deluded that I dedicate my life to a website (and don't try to deny your life does not revolve around this place). Anyway, I must get back to my actual life, toodle pip!

I do have knowledge of how to make a working and functional website, without paying over the moon for it. Knowledge it seems you lack. What's your next "argument" going to be? Bank-robbery?

Neither do you. If I were very generous, I would say that this site has maybe 2000 active members (i.e. people who actually use the place) at a stretch. The count you use is very erroneous, it even includes banned troll accounts on the tally from what I gather.

Kangoogle, what about that "actual life" that you were going to get back to?

Should I care if he's an "elder statesman" of this site? If I gave a damn about anything like that, I could just point out that I've been here a good deal longer than Kangoogle has.

Lol figured it out :) And Mutate from many other sites it seems, including a site which has some interesting commentary on this place.
