You can not post anything anymore. Smoke signals is better than CAPTCHA

It's truly strange how people say that they can't post anything, yet they have to post something to say it!

I wonder why it is that I don't get "Captcha'ed" more than one or twice a day, and how it is so easy for me to just type in they Captcha text and be done with it ... ?

I am willing to bet people are having the same problem. If you read the posts above this is a bigger problem. I think that more people voice their opinion on this.

I feel you have a winning combination, that your operating system/browser works well with this site, your posts are usually quite short and you rarely include links in your posts. If everyone else did the same there would not be an issue, but obviously it's not a happy compromise for all.

I still avoid using quotes as once through the Captcha, the quote is shown but my response has disappeared. So I still have to go back, copy and then edit any post with a quote.

Not so much problems but when I do "preview" that's mostly with captcha's. So I don't preview but edit if there's something to change.

It's frustrating to the point where I am really considering not posting. I spend time typing a response, then fill in the captcha and get returned to a blank reply box. It needs to go. You have enough moderators to delete spam bot posts before they clog up a forum.

This has been happening with me a lot lately as well. I'm probably going to take a break from posting as it's getting quite frustrating.

I think that Alex should scrap the entire system. It has caused nothing of trouble.

Calm, down, take a deep breathe. Log out, log back in,..sidestep the view.. God created creatures so they wouldn’t have to feed on human resources..
Cloudfare, is really getting silly now. I can’t spell backward words, as they don’t exist.

can this become the dedicated and official captcha complaint and solution thread? (or perhaps it already has).

i'm not sure that we need daily threads on the same issue.

Polls seem to be especially hard to post, even with the back-and-forth-through-browser-history trick.

Actually, it starts up through the typing and editing of posts and before logging in and logging out, because of cloud fare.

I hope one day, there will be a simple explanation for the appalling treatment of this upgrade, because site response to it is bad and needs to be rectified.

I was ok with the numbers but no to the jargon of slur, meant to throw insults and ridicule me.
It strikes off the main vibe.. that’s supposed to offer reassurance. Its making me feel like a wreck.
Its like an Indiana Jones incursion into the lost Ark.

The web as a whole is always a pain, with the broadband connections, but the follow through to it, is a chronic pain ,like a constipated cyber attack on us poor and unconnecting followers, with a pint of aspirin feeding off of it to keep it ticking over.

When someone wants to join its like getting into some secret organisation. (this could be from anything pro military to representative).

If this is a test to work out the number of users worth the maintenance here, the jokes on them.
I think the identity of the whole site is screwed and is like some cryptic travel insurance conning the operator out of doing their job,- wholesale if need be, to shut up the spammers.

If we’re not reassured that this site is kosher, then no one is and should be told the truth.
If I get a message saying this site has now moved to another I.P, some data will be lost, etc, then that’s it for me.
I don’t want to end up with carpool tunnel syndrome on top of the list of many other things.

It'd be nice of a moderator would at least come here and address this issue. Either tell us it's staying with no changes and we can move on or tell us they're addressing these problems.

Moderators can't do anything about the captcha; we don't have access to those tools, and can only work with posts and threads,as well as ban/unban members. We're as affected by captchas as the rest of you are.
I don't think it's likely to be changed in any significant way though. AFAIK this problem started in 2013, then improved, and has now become more problematic again.

I think certain words in a post will trigger the CAPTCHA, like if you swear or something. :P
