That was always my understanding, and my reason for requesting mod support in nine different instances.
People with trauma, depression, and anxiety need a lot more protection from hurtful comments.

This is how I tried to enforce the rules for the best interest of everyone's mental health.

The Haven.
The Haven is protected more than any other forum on this site, so if someone is in distress and posts there it is for help and support from other members, not to debate with him/her about their religion or atheism or post anything that could cause further distress. Trying to persuade an atheist to pray to God or Jesus for support is not appropriate in the Haven, similarly attacking a believers religious views in the Haven is not appropriate either.

This is the current rule, posted in The Haven. ^


I searched for the other rule but couldn't find it but thought this might be relevant

This icon was probably a bit inflamatory, but so was Alex making a comment which appears to imply he felt anyone who votes for Mr Trump this year was a white supremecist...

People are claiming not to be racist or nazis then they use a swastika ad for trump as their avatar so it's hard to believe these claims are being made in good faith. Even if it's a anti-trump image. . . To be honest I can't even tell.

Alex, please try again. Ferris is clearly not a white supremacist and is extremely upset. Can you address the petition to apologize to Sly? This website is about to hemorrhage a whole lot of members if we don't address the anti-autistic sentiments that have apparently been proliferating on this website. Members are upset at the lack of transparency. I've already heard from one very well meaning member and they said they are spent by what an earlier mod said. We need to do better. Racism is an important issue, but so is attacking the extremely vulnerable.

I am fearful that WP is becoming a one-sided political campaign and will self-destruct. These past few days have been toxic beyond belief.I don't see how WP can survive and thrive with such divisive elements and I am greatly saddened.

Anyone who is not a Democrat is a persona non grata? How is that the voice of human rights?
Some people here are saying "I am the most enlightened, unprejudiced person on the planet, But I will accept you only if you think like me."

That's a fundamental contradiction.

It was an anti trump protest sign dude , I even changed my signature to say you would approve ( why would I say that if it was pro trump ). I admit it was done with sarcasm though.

It's not the first time I've posted that image either you can check my history. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=361920&hilit=swastika

I removed it as Fey and two others said it was unwise of me when we are trying to build bridges , sorry if it triggered you.

I couldn't give two hoots if you think I'm racist or old enough to be a Nazi but I will pull you on it and point out your faulty logic.

forgot to reply to this- it is not censorship, just courtesy.

would also (appealing in general) appreciate if i post anything that is not phrased the best way so as to be hurtful, over the top, unnecessary derailing, etc,
if the person who notices that private messages me. have vague suspicions after the fact--
but unsure always and not being told is no way to learn.
as stated before, feel like a bull loose in a chinaware shop.

i did it intentionally in this thread to joke with Pepe but not otherwise intentional.

i can imagine the voice and person saying this.

it reminds me of how older, wealthy, well-educated british people-- would sound especially in movies.
or a british judge in a court (i saw a video of a woman who was a british judge who speaks like this)

It was pretty clear to me that the swastika image was being used in jest, and I think anyone here who understands Ferris' sense of humour would come to the same conclusion.

I think, especially when you're on the spectrum, if you don't understand the temperament, character or sense of humour of a particular user, it can sometimes be easy to get the wrong idea about a post they make and the intentions behind it.

yeah but also has to be extra cautious due to the responsibility of running the website. esp for the reason u stated. being a good host includes trying to keep all types of people and understanding in mind...
hospitality 101.

accommodating and managing something like this puts one in a different position from those just using the place to unwind or discuss things...
like Mr Brittas in Brittas Empire.
(although Mr Brittas ended up driving away the same people he was trying to maintain the standard of excellence to welcome)
