I definitely think a swastika should never be used in jest. Fortunately it was removed.

Interesting however, is that the swastika is an ancient Hindu symbol that was hijacked by the Nazis as their symbol. There are swastikas in Hindu temples in India, where the symbol is fine. Obviously its taboo in the Western world due to its terrible associations.

It would be a good start if you didn't swoop in and declare that anyone who votes Republican in the next election is a racist.
We have been pleading with you to help contain political toxicity, and prevent it from contaminating the interpersonal relationships here.

Attaching stigma to those who hold opposing views is the opposite of being tolerant.

I know Republicans who are not racist but deeply religious. Would you paint each individual with the same brush?

Why would you push your political agenda here when we are asking you to make WP a safe haven for all and not make it a political kick-boxing cage?

I'm pretty sure I've occasionally seen swastikas in memes (making fun of Nazi ideology), though I get what you're saying.

I appreciate where you're coming from here, and I know that there are Nazi types out there who would do just that, but given what I've seen of Ferris' sense of humour and general character, I would find it hard to believe that he was using the image for anything other than a laugh.

Just to be clear, I'm only commenting on intent here, not whether or not I personally believe that using that image was a good idea.

I think it's reasonable to take issue with the image that he used, but I don’t think it's reasonable to conclude that he must be some kind of racist.

Will check now. yes I do have such a mask. But removed the sticky bit from the price tag now, which they went and put right over the mouth, but it looked like a fang.
