It's the end of the road for me, in the last year this place has turned into an anti-autistic community and I don't want to be part of it. The slim, against all reason, hope I still had to see the effort people put in here succeeding has been shattered last night when one of the moderators who actively contributed to creating and maintaining the current culture used this very thread to once again accuse and insult the membership with impunity. I lost any faith that regardless of who will join the team will be capable or allowed to bring change.

So I'll end with another public thank you here to all of you, past or present members, for your insight, wisdom, compassion, resilience and last but not least the sense of humour that often kept this place alive by the skin of its teeth.

You will be missed BR!

Ok I'm keeping this process practical slimline and cost effective, however, these are the minimum if you are indeed genuine with your words:

Appoint members to assist in producing:

A clear mission statement vision and ethos.

Revision of the rules to reflect the world we live in today.

Publish mod guidelines.

Actual meaningful inclusion of the non American user base, I believe we exist in significant numbers, I am tired of us being classed as of lesser importance because I'm not in America.
Besides we broaden horizons.

Also can you put the politics in a box please in PPR, not here in this thread or section.

Still no response from Alex on this or any of the other heartfelt comments we have made on this thread.

So many of us have tried to work towards a resolution with you and we have yet to be addressed. Instead, you came and briefly commented on an avatar, and then bailed again. I realize no one enjoys being confronted with criticism, nor is it easy to acknowledge those sentiments, but it is necessary for the well-being of this community.

Please return to the thread with an open mind and humility, and address our concerns about your recent comments.

On a related note: I do find some humour in the remarks by Alex about people supporting Mr Trump being white supremecists (or at least inferring they all are), then a few days later a prominant white supremecist goes and backs Mr Biden for this year's election. Oh, I do see that ... good people who try to do good eventually get fed up and quit, while many of those who stay seem to make their every post a complaint about one thing or another -- why don't they leave, too? Maybe then those good people I mentioned will come back.

As for the rest of us, well ... I, for one, have hope for a better future, but have little or no ability to effect changes -- only Alex and the Mod Squad seem capable, and even they have their limits.

I think the problem is that when there's a toxic atmosphere, people who don't support either stay and ignore it or just leave and the other people who stay were the ones who were creating the toxic environment.

As far as complaints from former members, misogyny in the dating forum is the most common. SO that's another thing we need to work on addressing I think.
