I feel stupid for inserting myself in this conversation. ......but I noticed that since I posted the "Ad" topic yesterday, I have not seen any ads. I've not done anything to my computer...so I don't know.

It's probably a coincidence.

As far as what types of ads I get (it was mentioned by others), the one I got most frequently was "classmates". I unfortunately signed up a while ago and can't seem to figure out how to deactivate my account. I've never heard of a "zwinky" lol. I'll have to look.

Perhaps this is how we could actually controlwhat ads show on what threads! If we start on each Discussion section and start threads with names like 'hiking boots' or 'Christmas Baking' or 'Transendental Medication' we can actually be able to change what was routinely placed in that section.

Okay, this is bugging me, I have to ask.. When you said "Transcendental Medication," did you mean "meditation" or not? I didn't even notice at first that you said medication, I looked at it and just saw it as meditation. :? Was it a typo, or was it a joke?

Why, thank you, Alex! Really, though, I only even mentioned it because I was concerned I might have been seeing symptoms of another browser-hijack attempt on my computer - ever since we sent it back to Fujitsu for repairs, it's been buggier than Louisiana in August. (I was caused to laugh by the classmates.com ad, though - talk about the wrong audience for your product!)

guesswhatguesswhatGUESSWHAT! I disabled the adblocker, and then I actually saw an ad that I wanted to follow! It was for netflix and me and Kris keep talking about maybe getting a netflix account 'cause we don't have a TV set up so we can't really watch regular TV. And then bam! There's an ad for it! And I got to click on an ad for something that was actually interesting!

Edit: does WP actually get something for the advertising working, or just for the clicks? Like, do they pay more for me having signed up for netflix, or is it the same as if I just clicked and didn't sign up?

Adverts? Are there adverts on WP? I've never seen any. (Firefox + Adblock plus)

Is there any add-blockers for Google Chrome? I just can't stand to be so jealous of those lucky people who have add-blockers!
