Conservative Christians' subforum?
I will pose this to iamnotaparakeet.
Is this acceptable to you within a Conservative Christian forum on WP? We cannot stop people from arguing that religion is poppycock so long as they do not attack the believer personally. I imagine most of the topics in such a forum would eventually degrade to arguments for and against religion as a whole just because there is no rule against it and the majority of users seem to fall to this end of the belief spectrum.
This is why I attempted a suggestion that your desired forum might have a better home in a place where the majority of users fall to your end of the belief spectrum.
I also want to repeat what TallyMan has said in the past, only Alex can create a new forum.

That is already understood. The discussion here is simply about the possibility of trying a "sticky" somewhere.

Just want to make sure that everyone understands that they are debating the wrong guys when it comes to that particular request

No, you have already agreed to voluntarily refrain from hostility within it ... and let us all please be sure to keep even this specific discussion civil.
*I* have yeah, but that doesn't mean other people will. Unless everyone voluntarily agrees to this, then what iamnotaparakeet is asking for IS a censored forum specifically for people who agree with him

... there will likely be nothing at all.
This is not about having a censored forum, however. It is simply about this:

I do not think it should matter *who* might be posting such evidence. Again, here is what is being asked:

Movies/Television.
Sports/health.
Job hunting.
College life.
Etc.
anyone can pots in those forums though, and duscussion/debate is allowed. You're asking for a censored forum just because you don't like that other people don't share your delusions. Which is stupid. Also it will make wp look bad to new people imo, if we have a "conservative christians" forum, especially if they aren't forums for other religions and atheists. I reckon that would put a lot of people off joining.
It's not that I want people to be censored from speaking if they aren't Christians. Anyone can speak regardless of their beliefs, however the incessant trolling would be nice to not deal with. You know that it is possible for people to speak without insulting each other and declaring how foolish or ignorant they think the other people's views are?
So you think that having a "conservative Christian forum ... would put a lot of people off joining"? Really? How about having the LGBT forum - which Alex has already installed - wouldn't that do the same?
I doubt it. An LGBT forum would likely only put people off joining if they're homophobic. Whereas a conservative christian forum would put off a lot of atheist and agnostic people I think. I would have got the impression this forum was Christian-run - and what's worse - CONSERVATIVE christian-run. I probably would have re-considered wherther that was the kinda site I wanted to b on. I can't see how the LGBT forum would have that effect.
Isn't trolling moderated on this forum anyway? The PPR forum isn't unmoderated, right?
Not to mention that "conservative Christian" is far too narrow of a subject for a subforum. Notice that all of the currently existing subforums are rather broad in topic. Also, I'm not certain if this has been elaborated upon, but the atheists/agnostics/liberals/whoever else you don't agree with will come into your Conservative Christians subforum anyways and they can argue with you there. It would just be a new location for "trolling" and "arguing".
Not to mention the fact that there's really no way to prevent people from attacking your beliefs other than not stating them, as far as the internet goes. Personally, it doesn't bother me, but I know it really gets on some people's nerves...

Ah, so a Christian subforum would put off people you like, but a subforum focused around something which would drive away people who consider homosexuality a perversion is acceptable to you?
No, trolling isn't moderated. There are rules against it, but such rules are selectively enforced at best and ignored at worst.
Of course driving away homophobic weirdos is fine with me. Anyone who still considers homosexuality a perversion in the 21st century probably should get off the internet and go and live in a cave anyway
It's not about people I like - yes many of them would be people I like, but plenty wouldn't. It would put off most people who weren't christian, especially a CONSERVATIVE christian forum. Most people who don't fit that description themselves would be put off by a site that devoted an entire section to it imo

Oh such evils of conservatism! The homophobia! The financial prudence! The patience! Oh such horrors! So, seriously, anyone who is opposed to homosexuality is a "homophobic weirdo" and should live in caves? No. I'm tired of this demonization of conservatives and this self-promotion of left wing biased political correctness. If there is a subforum devoted to the advocacy of homosexuality, then there ought to also be a subforum in opposition to it so as to be balanced. Conservative Christians have been demonized by various members and even some moderators throughout the nearly 4 years that I have been a member here. On Wrong Planet, it is not homosexuals who are discriminated against, but rather Christians, as well as "Neo-cons", "Teabaggers", and various other conservatives whom have been hatefully provided pejorative appellations on PPR and various other subforums at divers times.
Your ignorance and hypocrisy are incredible! Your ideas of balance are the antithesis of what a 'true christain' would aspire to.
By your logic there should also be an explicit anti-christain subforum, since you want a christain one.
Conservatives need to understand that homosexuals are an inherent and natural demographic of the human populous. There was a time when conservative christains were opposed to equality of blacks because conservatives have a very small, finite and primitive world view. You folks seem to forget/deny how hateful you really are. The only problem is that the rest of us can see through your crumbling facade that you intend to fool others with. The world is never going to conform to your dogmatic bigoted ideology and on the contrary, it is conservatives that need to accept the rest of the world's reality instead of trying to shape and impose a false reality on to others.
My mantra: I discriminate against those who discriminate against others.

Nonsense, and btw you are now violating the rule against ad hominem attacks.
There already is, it's called PPR.
You're accusing me of being ignorant and then you write this?
No, you just plain discriminate.
