Agreed.

If he won't modify his behaviour after being gently spoken to, other methods need to be looked at. It's akin to being in someone's private dwelling and you making a nuisance of yourself.

Again its back to define spam and please provide detail examples. I have read maybe half of OWA post for example and have no problem at all.

Show me where he has interfered with serious or important topic? Somebody starts
a thread in the random section "post your favorite fruit" and if OWA post 20 times to
it never mentioning a fruit.

supporting my postion are the parties in question or their familes.

I agree its very irritating when for example (sorry to single you guys out) OWA and Greyhelium start spamming a thread, which I why I will click on the "stop watching this post" button.

On the other hand I was guilty of it too (parabola v garlic).

I wouldn't want to see any sort of ban.

I have to admit I did get a bit irritated when those two went onto the 'Like my new Avatar?' thread I made. I played along, being the nice guy that I am, but as a result it made the thread get to page 3 without staying on-topic. I've noticed they rarely stray from the Random Discussion forum. I have only sighted them a few times in other threads such as General Autism, Art, Writing, Music and certainly not The Haven (heck, not even I go there often, if at all). I guess Random Discussion is their natural habitat.

Yes, I'm one of the older, smarter, self-diagnosed aspies. I'll stick around and gently speak my mind for the benefit of the younger and possibly less intelligent among us.

I find it very annoying. Sure, this is an AS community, so we have to tolerate other people more than we would normally have too, but there are many times where those spammers just go too far. I can handle then doing their rubbish in the 'Random Discussion' area of the site in their *own* created topics, but when they bomb anything else it is rude and irritating.

Too many times I have found an interesting discussion or potential topic completely derailed and descend into utterly stupid discussions in 'l33t' and about things like vampires and garlic or whatever. They need to have more respect. These are guys who contribute nothing of relevance at any time, nor have I seen them offering assistance or insight into anything relevant or helpful on this site whatsoever - they treat it like some msn conversation, with constant, irrelivent, back-and-forth banter that craps along over 3 pages. WP is not the only place on earth that you can post in - join a highschool club or something for that.

This is a place where people come to feel safe and seek support, not be harassed when they sign up. If they have already been told to shape up and they are not, then there is little else to do but impose negative consequences upon them in order to curb the problem.

Okay Mitch8817 we know this entire thread is directed at OWA . So I'm calling you
out on your statement where he derail some important topic. Since he has 4000+ post
it would be nice if you could find atleast 1% to 40 post.

MrMark took more than a jab at OWA he trying to silence him. Aspie voices will not be

If these spammers don't want to contribute anything of worth to WP then they know where the door is. This is a support forum, not a place for spammers to post their egregious nonsense.

I too would like a better definition of spam. For me, spam is advertisements for porn and viagra.
