Have you been a mod before, Flagg? If so, what's it like?

Yes, I was a mod on an Advance Wars fansite for a few months. Imagine a constant stream of complaint spam assaulting your mail box combined with "KANZ I BE MUDZ2!!1111!11!1?"

But in the end the feeling of keeping a small chuck of the net safe is worth it.

Wow, by that point I'd probably start going on a banning rampage! lol But that's just me. How did you stick it out?

My fellow mods helped me through the rough spots.

Everyone on the Linkin Park Underground Message Boards wants to be a mod, but so many of them would abuse the power.

Sometimes I feel out of my depth there.

Aye, most people aren't cut out to be mods.

Most would end up going on a ban rage.

Yeah, I've seen perfectly innocent people get banned "just because". Abuse of power much?

Not really, I was bit of Grammar Nazi though. I gave warnings to people used poor English constantly and banned one person for it.

lol I hate it when people are so improper! We speak it properly (at least I'd hope so!) so what's wrong with typing it properly? It's not hard! BTW, I can be a bit of a grammar snob myself.

Not really, use of 1337 speak isn't very good grammar.

It's not like I'm using it on school reports or anything of the sort. Actually, I've tested at a college level in language mechanics when I was ten, so I'd say that's pretty good! :)

I can't imagine WPteers sending "i wana be a mod!!!11!!!111one" PMs to a mod though. We should ask Mr Mark on that one.

Well, Japanophiles and Aspies are different so I suspect a mod's inbox here is much cleaner.

The worst way to become a mod is probably asking for the position. I would find it annoying if people kept asking me how to become a mod.
