Maybe Alex should promote some of the moderators to full admin status? I'm assuming that these are fairly trusted people anyway.

Need to do something. I don't know how this bbs works as I had an invision board and moderated only invision boards where the admin was allowed to have semi admin etc...in other words, you could choose what your mods could and could not do. I allowed several of mine to have access to admin, as I could always see what actions they had taken via the admin panel. I never had any worries, no-one took advantage or tried anything other than once when a mod deleted another mod's post, simply because she thought it was too personal. She had her mod status removed, needless to say.

If you can remove avatars, I would imagine you usually do it by going to the member's profile or something and would have that option there as well as in admin panel.

Seriously, though, I'm hoping that alex removes this guy's avatar, and quickly. Has anyone noticed anything about the actual quality of his posts?

Just look in the news section. :o

Someday I hope to have 666 posts on WP.

He has a few crude posts (above) and his pro-incest views in the thread in the news forum that reminds of more than one past trolls threads on the same subject.

But I would remove his rights to use avatars not recommend banning at this point.

i think it would be easier and less painful for everyone if he was to just go click on "my account" and click exit/sign out and never come back to this site again,

Charming. I meant the post quotes TM1 was so kind to actually quote.

Okay, what we need is a [GM]-Dave style banning.

True, and a banned username doesn't stop someone making another one to return on...as we can see from the example of Atomika.

true, but an ip ban if he returns as same strange man, would help that would mean he cant get back to use wp unless he changes his computer ip address

I think Atomika was IP banned, and that still didn't stop him from coming back.

You can usually stop them by banning their IP address.

What's dave-style banning?

[GM] Dave, a fictional game master, or [GM] on Final Fantasy XI.

Here's a typical [GM] Dave ban package:

[GM] Dave ban package wrote:
*Boot player*

*Delete character*

*Cancel Content ID*

*Ban IP*

*Report credit card stolen*

*Mail incendiary device to billing address*

Of course, that is for a MMORPG, but I'm sure we can bring something like that to WP.

Read the blog about [GM] Dave here at Bannable Offences. Believe me, it's literally LOL fun...

I saw it just then, and that is actually trolling.

The person should be banned.

^Once again, may NOT be trolling, but it is DEFINITELY BEYOND BELIEF inappropriate. I hate looking at it. (although I do wonder how it gets like that, but have NO intention on finding out)
