That would be sexual discrimination.

I respect your opinion Fnord but I disagree, Women have a right to private discussion in my opinion without a mans opinion. Look at the forums description,

Code:
This is a place where women can feel safe to be themselves. "Having a male gynecologist is like going to an auto mechanic who doesn't own a car."

How can a woman feel safe if she thinks a man might be getting off to what they write. Now having said that, again, I respect your opinion.

1) Private Messaging (PM) is private. No man can see what is in a PM unless he is the sender or the recipient. It is possible to have multiple addresses, as well.

2) That forum description is sexist.

3) Whatever a woman is going think is whatever she is going to think, regardless of whether or not a man is present.

4) Are you accusing me of "getting off" on what you write?

I have never managed to get past that heading.

Nothing more for me to say here.

Actually most men - confident, assertive men who have lives - don't give a damn about their wives / girlfriends / groups of women getting together to do whatever it is that women do best. The handful of those who do mind are those who are the exception, rather than the norm, and it is because that this pathetic minority seems to be rather over-represented here that we have any need at all to make the Women's forum a private forum.

If that is not possible, I wish Alex (or whoever else programs this site) would add a BLOCK button a la Facebook, so that the paranoid creeps and losers could be blocked, to spare us their bizarre, delusional rants and conspiracy theories. Until one of these options happens, I wouldn't want my daughter on this site (even if she does end up with her diagnosis), because I don't want her opinion of men skewed by some of the DISRESPECTFUL @ssholes that post their misogyny for the world to behold, and on the Women's sub-forum, no less.

Well said, and I would feel the same way if I had a daughter.

Having a Facebook-style block button that goes both ways would definitely help. The foe feature we have now doesn't seem to do anything useful, other than maybe blocking PM's.

LMAO no, I am not a woman and quite frankly I don't care what you get off too but your other points are valid I admit.

I'll just take seat right over here (Chris Hansen Joke)

Well, this has been enlightening.

The solution is: Give men and women their own forums where they can b***h about each other as much as they want in complete privacy.

That's fair.
That's non-discriminatory.
And possibly never going to happen.

By the way, you all know already that the only thing a man has to do to “get off” reading posts on the would-be women-only forum is to sign up with a new account claiming to be female. It seems rather futile to worry about what other people get off on.

I take it debating calmly without b***hing is out of the question

PS – I had to put the asterisks myself. This censorship is disappointing!

You have to ask yourself why men aren't interested at all in a men's forum.
There's a men's sticky in RD that's about as active as a geriatric sloth.
Now why do you think that is?

Probably because we like women a lot and don’t have most of those innate defensive behaviours against you that you have against us.

If men start to post the rubbish they feel the need to but under a female pseudonym it will be obvious, then the mods can ban them for trolling or holding multiple accounts.

But you don't need to post rubbish to get off. Besides, it'd be a tad inconvenient with one hand.

And anyone with half a grey cell (but without an @sshole attitude) would agree that the case for a Women ONLY forum has been beautifully made in the last several posts, and, ironically enough, not by the women participating here.

Personal attack much? Or is it no longer considered "personal" if you leave out their nicknames, and talk about them in the third person, like one does with something you can't have a conversation with, maybe like cattle? Does "viewing X as people" ring a bell?
