Same here.

It's an autism forum, you can't count on people making inferences, you have to be very direct about things.

If the rules say "serious comments only", you still have to figure out what will be considered "serious". Many people won't accept as "serious" anything they disagree with.

That's true. I'm not sure if there's any sure way to fix the problem. I'm wary of starting any threads in the women's discussion forum. I'm afraid everything will devolve into a huge argument with no winners.

I think the idea in the OP is pretty sound.

In the meantime, maybe there ought to be a clarification in the Women's Discussion rules that men posting thread-hogging/derailing stuff to the effect 'but what about me/men/man-specific problem Y?' is probably not appropriate or helpful, as it's not a competition, and if they really want to say something, there are likely other, more appropriate threads to do so, or they could even start a thread of their own if they thought the matter was really pressing.

Similarly, it would not be appropriate - that is, serious - to remark that the problem under discussion is not actually a problem.

And, though I would think these obvious this is, as Dox47 reminds, an autism forum, and what seems obvious to one person may not be to another.

New forums are created when we have a lot of threads on those topics.

There should be a virgin forum then.

The average wp member is not the average human being and what is obvious to one may not be to others.
