There was a guy here once who felt like he wanted to commit suicide. I believe he was pretty serious about it.

Ferris was on the case right away, and was able to get the guy to tell us how many pills he took, so we can research it and determine if he really took enough to cause harm to him. To our relief, he didn't take enough pills to harm himself.

Ferris would be an excellent crisis counselor. I've seen him in action.

Ferris used his own method----and it worked excellently!

We need Ferris on here.

Fnord is correct , it was Save_Ferris choice to leave ( he was disillusioned with certain things ) , he will not be back as he has been banned for being a dick and rightly so.

Quite correct , I broke a rule with my first post , thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow , Those-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Discussed and Those-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named should never be mentioned again. As you were.

If Ferris wasn't officially banned, we can discuss him any time we want.

If someone IS officially banned, the we risk moderatorial intervention, at the very least.

At the time I was discussing him, I did not know that he was officially banned. I still haven't been "officially informed" that he's been banned.

He was officially banned , look at his avatar , he has a special red x and it says banned , that's quite a statement , not many people get that treatment.

Now enough about the unmentionables and back to peace and calm.

Mods can ban themselves.

Why was Mister Weasel banned? Will he be back?

Put simply there was a battle that took place among moderators.

Ferris and Booyakasha lost that battle so to speak.

When I was a mod, if other mods self-banned, they would type a string of random characters, copy it, and then paste it in as a new password before logging off one last time. The copy-paste method made memorizing and re-typing the new password a second time unnecessary.

Result: Immediate self-banishment.

I have been told that mods ask to be banned by other mods as temptation is too great to log back in.

You can't ban yourself , only another mod or admin can so this.

To rescind this type of ban you just email your mod friend and ask to be unbanned.
