Current list of trolls
well, it seemed to me you were talking about trolls in general, right? not specific people.
I believe is about following the philosophy of never talk about other people behind their backs, instead of confronting them, that sounds good, although I admit I don't follow it, but it has its value, no one likes to be talked about if it is in a negative way.
Then, following that, this thread would be worthless I guess.

“Trust me you are talking from quite a bit of ignorance in this case” (Characterizing another member)
“And apparently you are under the mistaken assumption that proxy servers keep you anonymous” (It would have been sufficient to say "Proxy servers don’t keep you anonymous.")
“That is an irrelevant appeal” (Unnecessary)
“It appears as if you don't know the IP system very well” (Unnecessary)
“You are talking a lot of sh** then you have the audacity to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. You are not skilled, get over yourself. You didn't even know how the redirection or banning works” (Characterizing another member)
“You can BS till the cows come home, you still don't know what you are talking about” (Characterizing another member)
“It is not secret, if you actually look through the spam he actually deliberately revealed his former username just in case you hadn't already guessed. Btw that is libellous, I've done no such thing” (I don’t even know what this means.)
This is just a sampling, not a complete list. I skim hundreds of pages everyday just looking for personal attacks. This page drew my attention for it's tone. Actual personal attacks would have warranted more intervention. The issue(s) are valid and warrant discussion, but we should try to maintain respect for people who disagree with us. Thanks.

Well, do we have any choice? I can't prove that anybody posting on this site isn't lying to me, so I take every person's claims about themselves with a grain of salt. I'm not saying the person doesn't have feelings, but that chances are I'm not going to run into him in real life (and even if I did, there would be no way to tell the difference). And if their history seems consistent, then I am more likely to trust others online, but I will still have the benefit of doubt.
Do you really think less of someone in either of those situations?
Yes, and most are also posting on this site with the full knowledge that it isn't their own, that they could be banned for ANY reason, that they will not like everybody on the site, and that ultimately they have no control over what anybody does. There are several sites I used to post on that pissed me off at one point or another, and there are people on this site that I don't like. And I am perfectly fine with the fact that there are people here who probably don't like me.
However, the major difference is that I don't make a big deal about it. I am perfectly fine with the fact that some people are better known on this site than others, and that some people get more attention than others. I am also perfectly fine with the fact that and, since this isn't my site, I am aware that unless I behave myself, I could get banned. Ultimately, they could do what ever they want with it. Any suggestion you or I make is just that, a suggestion. They can either take it or leave it, it makes no difference.
If there is anybody that here that is abusive or trolling, you just quietly report it and get on with life. The same goes with mods.
And if you don't like the site, there ARE plenty of sites out there that you could go to instead that can serve your needs better. This is a FREE service, you are not paying for it. You have nothing to lose by going elsewhere.
So, why burden youself with stressing over why people are the way they are? Or why this site is run the way it is? I could give suggestions for improvement, but as I said before, they can do what they want....
There is absolutely NO excuse for trolling. And there is no need to obsess over why websites are crappy.

Well, for starters, you never answered my question.
(If that starting yes was your answer, well, could have been a bit clearer.)
You also act as if people should just quietly report things, and go about their business, in the same thread you have listed ways to "have fun" with trolls. I thought having fun at the expense of others was a bad thing. Isn't that but one of the reasons that trolling is so looked down upon?
I don't think anyone was making an issue of attention given. Well, you did, by saying that you don't care. I'm not sure what the point of bringing that up was.
Yes, you could give suggestions for improvement. There's no harm in trying to be of assistance. Even if that assistance isn't accepted, you tried.
Then again, some of your suggestions thus far would wind up giving the site a much less professional / welcoming image. -_-
Lastly, as for having "nothing to lose" by going elsewhere, that's an opinion, and you are welcome to it, but not everyone will agree with it. Myself included.
I don't see how any of this has been in some way "excusing" trolling.

I did. They may not have been the answers you wanted to hear, but that's a different issue.
Well, why not? This was a suggestion I made to the mods and to the admins. The trolls are here to do the same thing, so why not return the favor. The part about reporting things quietly was a response to the notion that one should obsess over an obvious non-problem.
This was in response to this remark:
And I responded that I don't care, and I don't have to. It's just words on a screen.
Exactly, so why be bothered with it?
Maybe not welcoming to some people, but its just something they have to deal with.
I know. But as I said before, your not paying for it, and you certainly have the freedom to go elsewhere. So why make such a big fuss over it? Why troll a site if your not satisfied with it? This is what I am trying to address.

If you truly think less of people for not conforming to what you view as important, or right, or good, for people getting more out of this site than you believe to be "acceptable," then I see no reason to continue dignifying your comments with a response. It has nothing to do with recognition or popularity, though you clearly believe that these "poor people" come here for just that, and that alone. Some people do think this site has meaning, and has done something, and has impacted their lives. Some people think it more than others. That you take issue with that? There's not really anything for me to say.
Why are you here again, if this site is so meaningless to you? For someone that thinks so little of the online world, you sure have spent plenty of time here today.
Making a big deal over people making a big deal over something on the internet.
I'm not depressed in fact it has been written in a number of reports that I don't have clinical depression.
So what your saying is I'm charactering another member, whereas his comments are just unnecessary, cheers for that. The first comment is actually factual. You could say it is facetious because I mirrored his 'Trust me..' sentence in the post before, which I thought was quite patronising.
Libel is what you've been calling slander. Slander is not written but transitory defamation such as a speech. Libel is written down or pictures, etc.
It was my intention to speak in braod, general terms about my expectations of all members, not to single out any individual(s), but shadexiii asked me to elobarate.

Oh, whatever...
I gave my suggestions, you can either accept it or not. Actually, I'll be a little honest, the redirecting website suggestion actually has a more selfish reason behind it.
As for the troll, well, from what I can tell he is what is called a "psycho troll", in that they do it because they feel some need to get "revenge" on either a group or a whole. They tend to be emotionally disturbed, in that they actually think that they matter. What happens on the internet tends to be very real (I don't know why, but hey, it ain't my problem). These types are the bottom of the barrel trolls.
My suggestion to this troll, and since some of you apparently know him/her, you can tell it if you want: Turn off the computer, go outside, and take a reality check..... before men in white coats come and take you away.....

We have incidently instituted something new that bears some resemblance to what you suggest.

This is not true, and is exactly what I'm talking about. I have no association with shadexiii. Shadexiii and I were not ganging up on anyone, we were having a discussion. I don't think RadiantAspie need any special protection.
As for your sampling, you hinted that you were going to act impartialy, and then you broke with that yet again.
I would continue the discussion as to what constitutes and individual on the internet but I don't know what you might do next to be quite honest.

Is that a gauntlet I see on the ground? Will it be duelling pistols or swords? I'd think the latter would be most entertaining; flash and thrust of the rapier, and all that!
I did fencing for a few months when I was 13-14. I only ever learned foil though. The masks smelt of gob. Never had my own kit.
