There are some topics that I would talk about only with other women. I specifically am very guarded about what I post on the Women's forum because the threads can also be viewed by men. This is despite the fact that no one here knows me - or will ever know me - in real life

There is no anti-male, universal conspiracy being brewed here. Just like most men would not want to attend a women's tea party in real life, it would be nice if men here would just give us space and pricacy to talk among ourselves about issues / matters that matter to us. Its not always about men, sometimes its just about women just wanting to hang around and talking to other women about womenly issues and concerns.

That is fine, however if it is a topic about men, you would expect men to want to get involved. Just like if I make a thread about women, I would expect women to want to get involved. Not only would I expect it, I would welcome it.

Other wise a tea party, is a better option for that. Though you will have to find your tea party types (no pun intended).

I would never want to attend any sort of tea party. Boring.

You don't get to decide if I would want to get involved in a thread about women is not, so your expectations and beliefs are immaterial. And, yes, I want to have an e-teaparty on that forum from time to time and you are not invited to attend / participate. So ?? You cannot expect to be a part of every group everywhere or be privy to every discussion in every corner of every forum. You can argue this ad infinitum but the rules for the forums are very clear, whether you like it or not. I think the rules should also enforce a closed forum so that discussions can be more candid. The paranoia of a small majority of men shouldn't interfere in what women want.

Ummm, I dont see anyone forcing you to attend or to participate, so feel free to pass up any invitations you feel are coming your way. You think these are boring, I think they are lovely. Different strokes for different folks.

Tea is what I use to temporarily keep me from dozing off when I haven't slept enough and need to get stuff done, not to party.

Where did I say that? Maybe this is a language issue. I would expect women to join in if they wanted to. I don't care if you join in or not.

A closed/private forum is not going to happen.

Alex barely changed the forum till recently and that was a long overdue software update.

The whole point of this site is a public site to reach the ASD community not a private forum for women.

I've changed my mind: I would definitely attend a tea party if I were served tea by cats.

The tea party comment was meant to point out that it's a silly stereotype that women in general enjoy tea parties.

Knitting, baking, crocheting, shopping, book clubs, Pilates, going to the beauty parlor, dressing small dogs in little tiny outfits, etc. Silly stereotypes of what women supposedly all enjoy doing.

Cats are good at making faces which look classy and disgusted to humans, or at least to me.

I agree. Although if they like you, it also shows very clearly in the face. My cats make happy faces, and smile when they are really content or want to play.

Well, by "tea party", I really meant a group of friends getting together ("hanging out", if you will) and chatting together without any kind of reservation or fear of judgement or attack. I love to consume large amounts of tea and scones when with my buddies, but if that is not your cup of tea (pun unintended), we will have wine for you instead ? :) Or anything else you might want. And yep we will throw in some feline servers for you ! !

I really like your posts and I hope you would participate, but that is your choice, of course.

Ok. I get it :). I'd really want to go to a tea party where the tea was served by cats. I'm sure those are hard to find, though  . I do enjoy scones, but hopefully they wouldn't be prepared with dead mice or other such things that cats might enjoy.

I actually do really love tea. I drink several cups a day, and like many varieties.
