Should the wrongplanet chat room be moved to its own server?

i still think wongplanet should have its own server, and ircops on it to.

For the record, my company (the company that hosts the WP server) doesn't allow IRC servers on our systems as a matter of policy. We host our own IRC network as the sole exception, and even then it takes up a huge amount of resources just to keep it running and deal with various network/legal/misc threats.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of freenode, but running an IRC server or starting an IRC network to host one channel is overly excessive. Attaching a channel to an established public IRC network is the right move.

Yes but the thing is if wrongplanet had its own server , it would be nicer, becuase of all the people at wrongplanet, i am sure we can get a person that would be technical inclined people to run a server. There is some good and bad points to, because also the fact of freenode had been a great help to wrongplanet.
