I've not been involved in this discussion or drama at all and frankly most of it goes over my head, leaving me thinking "what the hell is this all about anyway"? Personally I've no idea who you refer to above. Maybe someone would like to give me a clue what this is all about? Is it a mountain out of a molehill or is something bad going on here or what? The mods are here to help the community run smoothly within the site rules. Is there something we should or should not be doing? All I'm reading in this thread is rhetoric and counter rhetoric and no specifics to help me understand.

Im not naming the person because:

1) It would further the drama
2) Under articles of forum rules at least the way i understood them when they were recounted on one occasion recently, me naming the person would be considered a personal attack which i could be reprimanded or suspended for.

I didnt mean to imply ALL mods knew the person referred to, but the ones carrying out the witchhunt against the regulars sure do.

Fine if you dont want to even acknowledge the presence of the person im referring to, or make enquiries by PM as to who im talking about to establish whether im making a valid claim, or even be willing to consider my claim is valid, but would rather call me Very Dramatic, then consider my account closed.

I made what i thought was a measured post laying out where i saw problems.

Obviously you're focused entirely on one group of people.

Why is the onus on me to chase your will o' the wisps?

Why can't you make a proper complaint, in PM to a moderator, instead of throwing insinuations around about 'some person' who is allegedly influencing the mods into witch-hunts.

:shrug: when people feel like they're being persecuted it's difficult not to get dramatic.

I still don't fully understand what is going on. The problem seems to have changed from 'too much chat derailing threads and people being ignored as a result' to 'everyone go away and stop having fun.' :?
I don't know if i'm just stupid or what, but I don't get it.

Just doing a recount... Yep, my inbox has received a grand total of zero PMs on the subject.

Again, I reiterate, the mods are here to help the site run smoothly within the rules. Members should tell us if they feel we should stop doing something or should start doing something or should do something differently. By PM if necessary if they can't talk openly about any issues or want to mention any specific member names.

Vague claims of a witch-hunt by undisclosed persons against undisclosed persons without supporting facts give me nothing to look into.

ok, let me get this straight. there's a member of the group who is a double agent, and who incites other members to make rule-breaking posts, then edits their inflammatory messages? and the mods are supposed to know all of the details of this even though nobody has ever called this individual out in a counter-message to the mods? there is an easy fix to this issue: tell the mods when it happens. but it seems like smoke and mirrors and has nothing to do with the issue we are discussing here.
