One of the key qualities of being a moderator is keeping your personal opinions of members and their posts distinct from applying the site rules. Personally speaking there are a few members here who I strongly dislike for their opinions, however that has no bearing on how the rules are applied to them. Similarly I have issued warnings to some members who I like and who's posts I generally find interesting. Impartiality is the key.
All true and I think people do an amazing job. I think the level of discussion on this forum, compared to the rest of the internet is extraordinary and that has a lot to do with the fairness and skills of moderators.
I recognise that in all of them, including Hyperlexian. There are hundreds of smart, likeable people here and then some really unbearable ones and I am amazed how calm and professional you all are in the face of some obnoxious and vocal posters.
I just think that sometimes chalk and cheese grate unnecessarily, and actually inflame rule breaking. Its an Aspie thing (to this NT), that someone can sound as if they are saying one thing - its only when you get under the surface you realise they aren't. And we all learn stuff.
If that dont have a chance to happen, because moderators aren't superhuman and get the wrong end of a stick, its a shame. Its the best moderated forum I have ever encountered. I thank you for that as I like reading peoples views. The internet is usually a dreadful place to do that, this place isn't. But stay inclusive.
