Alex, let me be a mod? O_o
Not everyone is cut out to be a moderator. It can be a fairly easy thing most of the time, but you've also got to keep your personal biases out of moderation.
It's possible WP needs a few more moderators, but given that WP is privately owned and operated that's entirely up to Alex; I haven't seen too many problems since I've been here, and while Tubgirl is disgusting it wasn't the end of the world.
I see your point. I don't think it's an aspie thing what they are doing. Lot of people ignore what someone says. They don't listen to the words. Instead they ignore what they say and just make their own assumptions and they still have those false assumptions after the person corrects them. I hate human nature.
Yeah your right there, and that Quatermoron sounds like a 5 year old child. He's trying to get one up on me, are we trying to score points here or something. I just made a suggestion to try and help the site. I obvioulsy hit the nerves of the mods, cause they realise they aren't quite doing their jobs properly and know i'm right.
The real problem behind these attacks are the communists, roller skaters, and hippies.
No, it is selfish idiots who cannot accept when they are wrong.
yeah you are right mark, does selfish idiots count as name calling? Does anyone realise it wans't about power? I just thought that some down to earth people could help out as mods, instead of computer nerds
When looking for a mod, the first thing we do is filter out members who can easily post within the rules on a regular basis from those that find that more challenging.

I think to be fit as a mod here is; someone never does name calling, they are always supportive, they don't insult others, they don't pick fights with others here, or get into arguments by hijacking threads, not a trouble maker.
They also don't want anyone asking or volenteering to mod. Something I still don't understand.

benjiman, as much as you're not liking having your words twisted, I have to point out that for a first time mod, you're certainly soiling your chances of staying as one. Quater is probably the most active mod around here and keeps this place clean and sheenin'. He was just getting into detail about why recruiting more mods can be more difficult than you think, and certainly that sort of thing can easily be seen as "He's going into detail to stick it to me". Trust me, I've fallen into that trap more than a few times and have had to restrain myself from going "You f-ing idiot what the hell are you talking about moron".

Jeez, see even I make mistakes. Thought you were querying why you had been made a mod, instead of being asked to be one.
And he did explain. If you're talking about his use of Latin hardly any user actually knows what it means, but we do recognise that when he uses it it's serious business.
EDIT: Actually READ the posts as you asked, and you seemed to not really be taking the situation seriously. This is the internet, but people have more important things out in the real world like jobs and family's and such. How would it look if you turned up late for work and your explanation was that you were cleaning up a flame war? You'd probably get fired. And mods are only human, thus they need sleep. As I recall alex did once try recruiting some randomly selected members who frequent the forums (one of which included the odd choice I was talking about earlier, among others), but in reality most were unsure about what they were doing to really be effective.
As for that picture thing, which I wasn't around to witness, it appears to me like that guy knew when the mods were around and when they weren't, and selectively picked a time to spam up the place. But like all things here it was just temporary, and as far as I know didn't last 24 hours before being exterminated (as well as the user).
More mods via your selection method in reality would mean having some new delinquents. The build-up to being a mod takes a great long time, as you have to show not only that you can be respectable, but can handle situations well, and show that you can be on the site consistently and for extended periods of time for more than six months. Not to mention not even ask about it. Random members who happen to post a lot don't count, and in fact may be even worse.

see why didn't he just explain instead of being petty! I'm saying there just has to be more mods obviously. I could name about 10 members that were capable. Of course they can't be arounds 24/7, thats why the more there are, the better.

I was not referring to you, but to certain banned members who made the attacks. But, as you clearly leapt to a conclusion...

He did, I did and he wasn't. You were.
The initial deviation from politeness occurred here:

This is where you told Quatermass: "God, your like talking to a brick wall!" and "You seem very immature for a moderator."
For some reason, two posts down, 2ukenkerl accuses Quatermass of being rude, which was not true. With that lack of understanding, I would say that he also had Buckley's chance of being invited to be a mod.
The subsequent post was you agreeing with this untrue statement, swearing, and then calling Quatermass "a bit of a jerk".
I'm amazed at how much abuse he has put up with from you.

Wrong! Go back and look again, but this time from a neutral point of view, instead of being biast, and sticking by your friend! First he said i'm not ready cause I had to ask, which is confusing, but fair enough. He then quoted from the beau guy and said "precisely", which is a bit childish. Then he said "keep going with that attitude, (what attitude??), and i'll never become a mod. Then using some riddle to say I have no chance, which again is petty and very childish. Next he was sarcatsic about not being able to "have his eyes stuck to the computer all the time". See you can be rude without being blatant, I can detect it. I was just being honest, and you guys don't like it. So I said he was like talking to a brick wall, you all seem to be that way Now your trying to provoke the situation by saying you can't believe how much he has put up with from me, I think its time you grow up!

well I apologise for that then.
