Yeah it seems to be a bowl of contention this subject. I think we should just drop it and move on.

Being heavily triggered to drink every time I opened a thread made to support alcoholics made me feel SO accommodated. It was so nice. I can see how when you don't have to worry about drinking yourself to death, and can just happily prattle on about whatever new beer you're drinking w/o actually having a passing thought about how it'll affect other users you'll feel super accommodated though!

I would love it if people would stop trying to downplay how lowkey f****d up that thread was + the resulting hostile response to me expressing discomfort about it. People on here can't do that though and are going to just keep justifying whatever they want because it wasn't that bad for them, even with the admin here clarifying that it was in fact heavily inappropriate to masquerade as what it was and didn't deserve to continue as an "addiction support" thread.

There's really nothing can be done beyond what our membership does so well - hold their hand, talk to them.
WP has no trained counsellors.
