Thanx for taking the toolbar down Alex :D I'm sure it was something that seemed like it would be nice at the time you decided to try. It might not of caused any problems if it was something that could of been in the background on the side instead of the bar blocking some of the view. I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm really glad you were trying to upgrade & improve things but it may be better if you test it out lat at night when fewer amount of members would be on & you gave us some advance notification about it

The button is a pain(as was the previous one) but this time you cant share something by mistake(its an app so it requests permission to post something in your wall) so I see it as an upgrade from previous fb button.

The place would be better without one imo but alex seems to like this idea so I feel the need to point out that this one is better than the previous one.

Thanks for the tip on the noscript, Vigilans. I was playing around with it with no success. I'll do what you did.

Are you sure that wasn't my noscript tip? ;)

Actually yes, sorry. But after I did it I could no longer access the discussion forums page. I am seriously non technical and easily confused by things like this. I now hate this toolbar even more. There's no way I am going to make things on WP public on Facebook, so it's all just a huge pointless annoyance.

You need to click on the big "WrongPlanet.net" logo after logging in, and either click the "discussion forum" link in the sentence on the front page (Wrong Planet is the web community designed for individuals (and parents / professionals of those) with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, PDDs, and other neurological differences. We provide a discussion forum, where members communicate with each other, an article section, with exclusive articles and how-to guides, a blogging feature, and a chatroom for real-time communication with other Aspies.) or bookmark the discussion forum area. NoScript prevents a lot of stuff from working, but I don't personally mind, as they tend to be frivolous things

I know all that, I've been here since 2009, it's just that the menu wouldn't drop down anymore. But anyway, thanks for the input. I did something right in my random noscript poking, because the menu drops down and that damnable toolbar is gone too. I can't remember what though.

Oh, so it wasn't something I inadvertently poked on noscript?
Thank you, Alex. You avoided a global meltdown there.

No problems here and I use Adblock and NoScript and Flashblock and Betterprivacy!

Yes. I think it's better now that you can't inadvertently "like" something without confirming your intentions.

Good to know! Thanks for that.

I just leave everything blocked, personally, except a handful of things. That includes WP, blocked- the functionality is not that affected, you just cannot click the emoticons to use them, or create italics/bold/quotes etc with the buttons. Gotta do it manually. I don't really mind. 2 seconds typing out [img] or [b] etc is a small price to pay for my peace of mind

Try adding BBCodeXtra. It doesn't help with the emoticons, but is far better than the shaky WP buttons for the rest.

by default, it comes with Vbulletin / HTML / XHTML /Custom / enabled
Go to the bottom of the context menu to clear some of this up.

Note that this is the entire of what I see of a WP forum page these days:
Image
The joys of custom CSS, AdBlock, NoScript and a good browser.

I like the buttons at the end of the thread. They're present but not obtrusive, and don't change the look so much I keep checking to be sure I'm on the right page.

Are those buttons on the toolbar counters for how many times they've been clicked? That's what they seem like to me.

Does this mean that everything here is showing up or getting posted on F.B.? If so, I strongly disagree. edited to add that I realize the site needs money to keep going but in my opinion, WP is not a good thing to mix with F.B. even it does somehow get money for WP.
I write it F.B. because I don't like it not one little bit.
