I just went to check the rules to see if ad hominems are allowed but couldn't find them.

There is no rule against the use of fallacies of reason, spurious logic, or false data.

:( Unfortunately.

For Steve's magnificent apology

Nevertheless my "man of the week." Giving is at its best when nothing is expected in return.

Heck, there is not even a rule to enforce the use of the Oxford Comma!

:( How barbaric!

We could make a rule book of how to be endearing.A rule is a rule :) What's an Oxford Comma?

It's exhausting obsessing over rules, punctuation, spelling, my aspie "friend" totally wears himself out.

An Oxford Comma is one of those nitpicky little punctuation things. It's a comma placed before the second-to-last item in a list.

"Tom, Dick and Harry"

"Tom, Dick, and Harry" <-With the Oxford comma.

Not to be confused with the Oxford Coma.

Who is this "We" of whom you speak?  If you want Terms of Endearment, then go see the movie.

An Oxford Comma is a comma placed immediately after the penultimate term (i.e., before the coordinating conjunction, which is usually "and" or "or") in a series of three or more terms.

Gazuntheit.

The movie was nice, a bit shmaltzy for me.

Who is "we?" The community we are all part of here, who share mutual responsibility for each other's comfort, well- being and freedom.
You always exclude yourself from the "we" and ask who's "we"? That saddens me. "We" is more rewarding than Oxford Commas imo.

I, for one, would love a "how to be endearing"-manual written by Fnord.

I do have a copy of his last book , but I can't remember if it went down well or not so I better not post it.

Not being condescending. I actually quite like your style.

It was an updated re-write of Machiavelli's "The Prince".

Fnord is a smart cookie. An articulate, precise, coherent cookie. Please note and applaud my Oxford Comma thingy.
