If I turn the web page's Zoom size down to 75% or 80%, then portrait looks OK again on iPad - no popover problem as in my screenshot. Fonts become tiny. The iPad has a HiDPI, sharp screen, but the tiny words are just barely readable, wearing glasses.
To dodge the popover problem in Librewolf on a Raspberry Pi (1080p), I have to dial down the Zoom to 90%, when librewolf is occupying half the screen (so window width of 960 pixels). I like viewing your site with two Librewolves tiled side by side - the forum index on left side, then some deeper content in a thread in the right-hand librewolf. Then I have several tabs in each window.
