I'm just a bit irritated that hyper can silence people in debates so easily. I'm making a big deal about the abuse of power, not the subject matter of the debate.
I don't see an abuse of power, personally, especially from Hyperlexian.
I think she just puts her points across quite bluntly and just happened to have the rules to back her up.
But carry on, although i'm not sure what you're trying to achieve.
As I added to the previous post, the debate in question was about "sexist" jokes. It's obvious she acted as she did to make a point and assert her authority over me in the debate. In fact, no one in that thread complained about being offended at all. She just used the grey area issue to her own advantage, simple as that.
Im sorry but Ive seen her discussing things with several other members in an ok manner on the same post because they werent breaking the rules.
She even encouraged you to find a way of arguing with her that wasnt rule breaking and you refused to do so.
Making this accusations after she encouraged you to find a way of arguing with her that wasnt rule breaking(since as a matter of fact she does like to have a good discussion here and this can be seen at several threads) just makes you look bad.
What she actually said to me was: "a joke that makes fun of blonde women IS sexist. now you know so there should be no further misunderstanding."
She was letting her own personal opinions on the subject of the debate affect her moderating decisions. She states her opinion as if it's a fact and uses it as basis for silencing people. How does that equate to encouraging me to debate in a way which doesn't break the rules? I mean, the original posts didn't break the rules in the first place if we're perfectly honest.
If anything, what she did afterwards was a final kick in the teeth more than anything else.

Basing moderating decisions on personal opinions, and stating said opinions as if they're facts, is not good form for a moderator, surely?

Lol, is that a fact, or just your opinion that she does that?

Heres an actual quote of what she said:
if the video is sexist and you know it, then posting it is against the rules. what are you doing there?
if you want to argue sociology, bring it on. so far you haven't said anything intellectual on the subject.
As you can see by the bolded part she is encouraging you to keep arguing with her about the same thing in a way that was appropriate for a gender friendly forum and you refused to do so.
Can you please point me where do the rules say that the sexism has to be done in a serious manner to break the rules?.
AFAIK rules say that sexism wont be tolerated(without making a reference to wether it has to be done in a serious manner or not) and Im sorry to inform you that a sexist joke is still sexist wether its meant tongue in cheek or not.

You might think that, but I find you to be quite the most aggressive, belligerent and choleric member I've ever known to grace this forum.
I don't bother conversing with you because I find it to be a deeply unpleasant and unrewarding experience.

Of course, Asp-Z's opinions aren't opinions, are they? They must be facts

Umm, doesn't that count as a personal insult?
And I guess my title is right then
For the record, Moog, I have absolutely nothing against you, so I don't see why you of all people would make such a statement.

That you have nothing against me does not alter how I perceive your conduct.
I find you aggressive to the point of rudeness; if you find that offensive then perhaps you might reconsider the way you express yourself.
I am surprised hyper was able to conduct herself so decently towards you considering the disgusting lack of respect you afford to her, and anyone else you happen to disagree with

So the moderators are now breaking the rules to personally attack me! No debate about that one at all, I mean just look!
I honestly don't know why you're acting so aggressively towards someone for not having good social skills. This is an autism forum. For autistic people. And I'm autistic, and am therefore bad at socialising. That Aspies come across rude is one of our traits. I'd have thought WP, of all places, would understand this.
You can look up the words aggressive, belligerent and choleric in a dictionary, they are descriptive words.
If I was insulting you I would choose different words.
Understand, yes. Tolerate... to an extent. Enable? No. Allow it to go on without correction? I think I would be remiss if I didn't make one more attempt to reach behind your wall of furious self righteousness to help you see your errors.
I notice that you don't disagree with my judgements. Your only defence is playing the aspie card?
I know you are a smart kid, and quite capable of manipulation.

Descriptive words can still be insulting, and those ones certainly are. You're insulting me then hiding behind schematics. Brilliant.
Me? Self-righteousness? I do not feel superiority to anyone. I've been depressed for as long as I can remember. I won't go into unnecessary detail about suicide attempts. But that you can call me self-righteous shows how little you know about me.
And to be clear, I may very well stop posting here now, but I have no intention of changing my manner as a result of this confrontation.

Now it's emotional blackmail, is it?
You realise that this all seems a bit 'if I can't have my way then I'm taking my ball home'
No one is preventing you from using the Haven.
I've reached out to you before and you didn't want to know. I said the offer stands, and I have not withdrawn that offer.
I am sorry that you are determined to learn nothing from this.

Not at all - please, continue to take pleasure in insulting me. I'm just correcting your false assumption.
I have no reason to waste my time staying where I'm not wanted.
I have not used the Haven because I do not wish to discuss the matter in detail on WP. I've mentioned it quite a few times though.
I do not live my life to please others.
So you want me to say, it's okay, do whatever you want, you aren't feeling very good after all?
You're not special because you feel down. You can't swing a cat here without hitting someone who's depressed, suicidal, or has been there.
If you used WP for emotional support rather than as a combat zone then maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I know it's not easy, but you should do something supportive of yourself for yourself, even if you don't give a crap about anyone else here.
