Hey, I live in a trailer. I'm one of those low income aspies whose talents and obsessions don't include engineering or anything else where my technical skills are so treasured that people are happy to overlook my aspie shortage of charisma.

But I guess I shouldn't be offended by your comment, since my trailer is in a residential neighborhood with normal houses all around. I'm not sure the neighbors are too happy about it, but one of the things I like about redneck culture is their strong inclination towards libertarian style anarchism, "That guy seems kind of weird, but it's none of my business."

It was just an example of the kind of demeaning talk that I've heard when I lived in a double-wide.

And I'm proud of my redneck roots.

Straight forward enough; when a thread is locked, it is because it is in violation of one or more of the terms of service; continuing that conversation is going to result in further violation, and often to threads filled with flaming vitriol. There are a lot of emotions here, and it is easy for the fire to burn out of control if not tended. If you have questions, ask a moderator in private; if you wish to continue that conversation, do so through private messages with the relevant individuals. Does this answer your question?

Good point, but it's probably because it starts up the argument again.

Why ask "Why?"?

When it comes to banned members and locked threads, you can always inquire privately with a mod.

Locked threads are sometimes unlocked by popular demand, and Alex considers no ban permanent, except maybe for some trolls. I don't agree with Alex on that, but it's his site, and we try to do things his way.

And to what purpose would you ask that?

well, it's not that I didn't see it, of course I did see it, but given that it looks to me to be something ambiguous, which can be subjected to different interpretations of what is and what isn't, and each mod deciding when to apply this, is why I asked about ridicule (in a form of skepticism if you will), and asked "how that works". Really, that seems to happen here sometimes, something that I can interpret as ridiculing someone and in such cases, nothing seems to be done about it by mods, which probably they would not consider it an offense, if that is considered an offense, as well as the opossite seems to happen.

I see the example with the indirect attack though, thanks for that.

And I also ask, how many members here get really the point on something when is not explicitely explained? And it is an honest question though, of course there will be people in every place which have a set of rules which would not agree with them, and will make a different interpretation of it, but I believe making honest questions without demanding and being respectul of course, and clarifiying wouldn't be bad.

Perhaps it should be a thread about members asking questions about rules, if some want them explained in a more detailed way, as some didn't know what crossposting means, and I think there is still confusion about that, but it is just an idea, although I would prefer this to be ignored.

Well, I tend to agree with Alex on that, which to my view it seems fair and noble to give second chances rather than give a permanent ban at first glance, if that's what you mean, but I agree, each has their own way to run a site.
